ICC - where and how much?

    Hi all,
I am completely new to any sort of boating and was thinking of perhaps renting a boat (not a sailboat) in Croatia next summer for a few days. Most of the Croatian rental companies look for "a licence" (unspecified as to which one), but I think it's a fair asumption that the ICC would suffice.......

Which brings me to my main question. I have no previous boating experience. Is it possible to do a course over a couple of days/weekend and get the ICC or is that completely unrealistic?
Ideally I would like to do it somewhere in Dublin (pref. North or North County) - does anybody have any recommendations as to where and with who? Would anybody have any idea of cost?

I've done a bit of googling but would prefer to hear from "people in the know" ;)

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!
