Too much shoulder work?

    Hi all

I hope I can get some of your advice on this.

My current routine looks something like this:

    Deadlift
    Barbell row
    Military press
    Bench press
    Bicep curls
    Tricep pushdowns
    Seated calf raises

I would describe my physique as being slightly unbalanced, for example, my back and legs are bigger than my chest and arms. (Partly due to my being a genetic freak - I've always had massive legs and my back soaks up the weights).

However my traps and delts (in particular my lateral delts) are lacking.

If I added dumbbell shoulder press and lat pulldown would I be doing too much shoulder work?

    Thanks

forget about pull downs...start doing some pull ups...pronated grip....start shoulder width and as your arms get stronger widen it...that will increase your arm strength and shoulders...there is no better exercise...

    Thank you.

Does anyone disagree with caledon's advice?

In order to have a more balanced shoulder I wouldn't add another pressing exercise. Your front delt will get plenty from benching and most peoples are over developed in comparison to the rest of the shoulder. Add in some lateral and rear delt work too.
Also, don't neglect the rest of the shoulder girdle ie. Rotator cuff

Agree, most people over do there anterior delt and neglect the posterior delt and rotator cuff.

    Thanks all.

Will pull ups works my traps? I am more concerned with my traps than my delts.
