www.bhaf.ie - I live near the Beacon myself so I train there myself - it's got everything you need and the guys know their stuff.

I'll second the bhaf, small gym but everything you need, and good rates too.

    www.crossfit.ie

Not a regular gym as such, but just around from Beacon and I'd say well worth you checking out before you make a final decision...

Yeah - can't go wrong at €29 a month and no contract.

Having worked in both I would opt for crossfit by a million miles.

If you want a regular gym that you can go in and do your own thing then BHAF is a solid bet

Sorry for digging up old thread, Does anyone know of any other gyms in the Sandyford / Dundrum area?

TF want near 700euro from me to renew.
I generally go early mornings, 6am - 7:30 so BHAF is out, and crossfit isn't really what i'm after.

Mrtf. Were tf not budging on the renew price?

Can't see many paying those prices considering what a state the gym is in.

My membership in tf is up in 3 months and am looking around already. So far my options are rock fitness in dundrum ,west wood or raw fitness .

What about Damien Maher's 'bfit4life' - AFAIK it opens at 6am

Does anyone know what you get for €29 at BHAF - I came across it recently and wondered if that includes classes ( and do they have classes and facilities as it's not very big! )

Crunch have been advertising in Beacon before Dunnes opened up. The site is tied up with NAMA, so nothing moving for months at least.
I'd love it if they did open up (depending on which facility) but I ain't holding my breath.
Don't waste the enthuasiam. Join somewhere and see what happens.

You really just get a month's membership, though I think they are running a 3 month starter membership for 73euro, it's pretty good value, plus there's no contract. You can effectively join for a month, and if you don't like it you don't have to renew.

It is small, but it's a good atmosphere with friendly people. Doubt classes are included in that price, but they do spin classes and strongman training, with a few other classes being introduced this year I think. Guy who owns the gym has boards account so i'll let him know about this thread and I'm sure he'd be happy to answer what I couldn't.

Digging up an old thread but just wondering if there's been any more movement on a new gym in or around the beacon complex??

I had heard rumours about Ben Dunne or Crunch opening up by Dunnes - any more on that??

So far the only options for the industrial estate are WestWood (expensive, not strolling distance from beacon), Body Health and Fitness (not open early Monday or Friday) and CrossFit (not what I'm looking), right? Anything else popped up or changed since?
