Ken also sounds like a child. Come here you ya little buggaahh! And did anyone ever ask why he treats it like a live commentary saying stuff like "Oh heres a guy lets get him oh 1 hitmarker 2 hitmarkers 3 ahh buggahh..." when clearly he knows what he did in the game because he played it and im sure has went over the video before commentating.

I don't mind commentators not being excellent players but Ken isn't even within an ass's roar of an average player. Woeful really.

I know commentators put a lot of work into what they do and i'm not trying to slat that.

But is there anyone else who doesn't watch any of their videos or find them entertaining?

I can appreciate what they do and how they put it together, but i just can't watch more than one video.

Not everyone likes them, thats perfectly understandable....

Do you mind me asking why you cant watch them?

I'm not sure why, I find some of the stuff interesting like rare stuff that happens in a game. Like throwing knife kills when they first came out or 720 no-scopes before every eejit tried it. The appeal soon wears off though.

I must say Tallon, your videos are very well put together, but I think it's because i've been playing online since the first COD, so have been around a while and mostly seen it all.

Also without trying to seem like i'm boasting, I've been getting banned from severs for getting 30+ killstreaks before there even were killstreak bonus's. So watching videos of people doing good doesn't appeal to me either.

I have loads of fraps recordings myself lying around from various games that i've never used, i put a few together from COD4 and WAW on youtube but without commentry.

I'm sorry it was hard to explain that without seeming like a boastfull twat...which I didn't seem to do too well at avoiding.

No harm in saying you're good at the game tbh, I'm good at it, have played enough games with boardsies who can back that up, but I have my sh1t games as well (groundwar, lag, arrrgh!)
KDR is never an indication of how good you are tbh, the amount of times I've commited suicide to switch to a cold blooded class and take down air support is crazy at this stage, its doing my KDR no favours so I stopped caring about it ages ago :pac:

I've gone 8 or more deaths in a row trying to capture flags going for objectives. Every class i have has a stinger so i can avoid the suicide when it comes to taking down ac130's and the likes thankfully!

Though as i've said before i do care about my KDR a bit, but not to the stage where I wouldn't go for objectives. Though by trying to master all guns mine's gone down from 2.5 to 2.22.

I'd like to stress that i didn't come onto this thread to discredit commentators and blow my own trumpet. As I said I do appreciate their videos and am impressed by the work the put into them, just it's not my cup of tea really.

I'd have a stinger equipped all the time only for I cant have the SPAS as my primary :pac:, if I could I'd be grand, but playing MW2 has taught me a valuable lesson, if you want air support taken down, do it yourself. (unless me and leeg17 are on the team, then leave it to us, I shoot down UAVs for the giggles)

Prestiging is horrible. At the start of the rank I don't have a stinger, and can only sit and watch enemy air support be free to do it's thing. I die a little inside when that happens.

Shooting down care packages is where the fun's at, it's tricky and people send very, very abusive messages after...

Only ever shot down one care package chopper, and that was by accident, was aiming at a pavelow and the smaller one flew in the way :pac:

I agree about prestiging, its ridiculous you have to be in the high 20's low 30's before you get cold blooded and stingers, it should be there from level 5 or 6, for new players who dont know where hiding spots or what route to take around a level to avoid air support fire its a nightmare.
although stupid teammates who leg it outside and dont watch where a harrier is on the UAV are just as bad, honestly how hard is it? you see the harrier pointing in your direction, hide! when it rotates away its safe to move, fcuking hell its not rocket science, the pavelows and cobras are a bit harder to judge as they shoot in multiple directions

I have to disagree. The game in general is easy and k/d gives a good indication of how good the player is. All my friends on psn who have a 2k/d are good players compared to the people with 0.something k/d's.

When we had a 14man domination private match for first to 500 points I couldn't get into the game at all between lagg, and magfag r@ping me so I just started shooting down UAV's for the lulz

    Fave commentators:

    Tejb
    Hutch
    Seananners

And for the win FPS Russia. His videos are hilarious. Theyre dubbed with sime sort of glorius soviet victory music. Also he shoots some of the guns from mw2 and cod 4, even doing a noscope 360 with an R700!

depends on what your definition of a "good player" is, someone who sits in a room adding to their own killstreak and not playing the objective isnt. someone who's out sacrificing themselves to shoot down air support and protecting the team is.

Well I beg to differ. What I call a good player is somebody with good reflexes, intelligence and anticipation of the enemy. A good team player does what you said. I would also say sitting in a room getting a killstreak is just a tactic, one I do not use however.

thats the main one for me,someone that knows the spawns and routes on a map, it just annoys me someone sits with a claymore ans scavenger and gets a high kdr cos they havent moved all game

I agree its annoying when im trying to do something but if im just messin and rushing then its a challenge. If you can learn to not get angry at all then you'll always do well.

its not quake tho, its a team based game. There are so many reason why k/d isnt a accurate measure of skill. i think i am a perfect example of why.

my k/d isnt great, i think it 1.5ish... yet i can go 50-10 for fun, im as good or better than everyone onmy friends list, and i know ill be taking everyone's cash in blackops.

why is my k/d so low ? well.. i **** about something serious, from using bum classes to unlocking tac knife on every handgun, for a while i used nothing but an intervention... problem was i still had the same agressive playstyle.. trust me rushing with a sniper isnt as easy as it looks -_- Other factors would be if you played by yourself or with a team, game type you play and guns you use.. all of which isnt shown on your k/d.

I wouldn't say I watch every video they post by any stretch of the imagination but I'll have a peek for a minute or two and if it sounds/looks I'll continue on watching.

The rest I have no time for as they are dull as dishwater and stick to getting nukes on ground war/domination. I think that for 95% of every COD vid out there be it Machinima or not.

on the same note thoug one could also argue that a good player wouldnt need to sacrafice themselves while shooting down air support.

K/D I believe does show a good player IF you can see the total amount of kills. Someone plays one game and one game only and they kill 5 and dont die (in theory anyway) their K/D is 5.0 and they never play again however if your kills are in the tens of thousands and your K/D is still high then ether that player has camped continiously since day one 12 hours a day every day OR they actually are a good player.

There are exceptions to the rules as it doesnt factor in connection blunders / ****ty nights / messing about etc but as a rule of thumb if you have a respectable amount of kill totals and still manage to maintain a high kd then "all signs point to yes" as the magic 8 ball says

I mostly use the SPAS so i have to switch to another class to use the secondary, its either that or use the dreaded OMA :pac: and SOH is much more valuable to me, I dont always do it, but if I've just been killed and theres a harrier or pavelow about I'll switch and take it out, then try last with the rpd class, although without stopping power it can be hard.
