    Hey guys,

Just wondering what the Edge personal training gym is like in Clontarf. Does anyone have an idea of prices, would be helpful. I find it impossible to find a workout plan, I have no motivation when I work out alone. I had a look at the website and it seems like the right gym for me.

    Cheers :D

    Class gym, great trainers.

Ya pay on a per session basis, tho I assume they do bulk deals too. Price is standard PT fair... Get in touch with them!

    Hi
I have being training here since the lads opened. It is a lovely place to train. As Hanley said its per session payment for one to one training. Max I have seen training there at any one time is 4 people (so no distractions).
The lads are very motivated and will give you great diet and supplement advice on top of your training.

One thing I must say is dont expect them to take it easy on you :D

I used to go to the Edge and used James. I found him a good guy and a very good trainer - although as mentioned don't expect him to go easy on you - on more than one occassion I was touch and go as to whether I redecorated their floor  I finished up with him because I couldn't afford €70 a go on a regular basis.

    You're thinking of Dave Mulqueen.

James is a sound guy too. I've trained with him a few times and he works his ass off. I can see why when he's training someone that might make him come across as being a bit of a jerk. He's not tho.

I assume the fact that he pushes people and jokes around with the lads. Like a normal person...

I gave up using the Edge about 6 months ago. I trained with them for 4 months and thought they were fab but then things seemed to change. The trainers (or at least mine) started to look on their "clients" more as transactions and one hour slots (costing 65 quid) became 45 mins and I was pressured a little to sign up to a more prolonged verbal contract...CASH.
The plus when I joined was that it was friendly...I left because the guys their have their friends/clients sorted and seem not that interested in newbies or non regulars.
Fair enough I suppose but no different to a big gym really.

I hate to jump to their defense again, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they look after their regular customers better than non regulars.

It's natural that you build a better relationship and understanding of someone the more time you spend with them, and will probably go that extra mile for them too.

It's also understandable that they want to solidfy their cash flow by block booking up front sessions.

It's all really just standard fair for the industry. It's unfortunate that people leave unhappy with it tho.

Did you mention any of these issues to the lads?
