So FIFA 11 Ultimate Team has just been announced with a release date of November, and the best news is this year is FREE.

I was addicted to Ultimate Team 09.....similiarly to Ultimate Team 10(for a while), I asbolutely love the mode (although, when I heard about it first, I thought it was a rubbish concept).

Even if this is free, I won't be playing it unless they fix that ridiculous thing, where if your opponent quits, you don't get the win. Its a joke. It worries me how anyone could possibly think that that was a good design decision. Its the only reason I stopped playing UT'10. It came to the stage where the only match I could finish, were the ones I was losing.

It does worry me, that the pro clubs has so many problems (disconnects, lag, match searching), etc. and now they are chucking another mode on top of that.

its about time they added the ability to play your friends and i'm liking that you'll be able to buy and sell players on a dedicated website instead of using my 360. i think that's going to make it alot more addictive, this is the feature im most looking forward to.

ah for fúck's sake...the problem now is there's too many modes in Fida..
you're barely getting into the Virtual Pro online and suddenly everyone's off playing the league matches.
Then UT comes out and everyone sods off playing that...just look at Fifa 10 last year and the threads on the Fifa section...they all followed this progression.

wow, i have got 3 packs already and cant even play it yet. some ok players, gyan, loverkands and Khedira
fairly laughable that the auctions are open but no tokens available really to try and buy something.

I found it very easy to play a friend on UT10. Just add them as a preferred player and then search for match at same time. Never failed to pair me with my friend.

Sure it's not the ideal way but it works fine.

Just been doing to some wheeling and dealing, something important to note that EA seem to take 20% of any coins you get from selling cards.

how come EA have introduced 20% selling fee AND Bid tokens? the wheeling and dealing is probably the game's core strength, why try and damage that?

Bid tokens were around on FUT 10 but only on the browser based auctions. Are they going to be introduced in to the game this year?

Sounds like a good buzz but when I followed the link above & entered my login, its telling me i don't have FUT 09 or FUT 10 team. Is it that I can't register a team till nov 3rd because of this?

Ive started well, in the final of the World Class cup with a poor-ish team.

The noteable players I got in my free gold packs were Gervinho and Pepe... oh and Liam Miller

Have signed Anthony Stokes and Maniche. As always, the Trading market is where the fun is.

Sort of yes but you then play with the team you've create and try to win games/tournaments, which in turn earn you coins to buy more/better players.



Bought 2 gold packs today and got Vidic, Nani, Gourcuff and Raul Albiol in them. I've never had such a good pack. Set me off on a good footing. I've already a really good team with everyone, bar one, over the 80 mark.

I'm not a fan of the 'Play a Friend' feature. Last year me and my cousin constantly played against each other by simply pressing 'advance' at the same time. Never failed to get paired against each other providing we had the same star rating for our teams. The new mode however doesn't give you any coins for winning/losing so it's a bit pointless.

I'm sure it doesn't do that so people we have no incentive to cheat the system and win/lose on purpose, but you can still play a friend for coins by doing the method I mentioned above so they're not really cancelling this out. It's just creating a 'nothing' mode. The ONLY advantage of it is that I can play against my friends who have crap '3 star' teams and I can beat them with my '5 star' team

Playing it so far and really liking the concept. How does the trading of players work? Like surely its not a case that only one team can have a player, there are no duplicates?!

Also rather than saving up to buy a silver pack, can you just purchase silver players until your team is a silver listed one? If so how many silver players do you need?

got to an online final today only to face a real madrid/Barcelona dream team with Messi/Villa/Ronaldo etc. Is that even possible at this stage without some major cheating? The team was chelsea xi if you wish to avoid it.

its possible with some 59min trading. I'm up to 135,000 in coins. yet to build a team tho but making coins quite easily

Downloaded this yesterday, I got the two free goal packs. Two packs full of absolute knob. Juan Pablo Angel and Walter Gargano were the only "decent" things between both packs.

ummm you set your Buy It Now to the amount of coins you have. Then select gold and then skip to the page where the trading is at 59minutes (new trades) and keep refreshing till a bargain pops up. I got nani for 10000 and sold for 25000 minutes later and so on. pain in the hole getting to the 59th minute page....takes about half an hour

If you check their gamertag before the game you can avoid these cnuts. If their status says "Playing FUT Tournament", they're fine; if it says "Watching FUT Tournament", they're probably cheating. Of course we shouldn't have to do this but we do.

This game is annoying as ****... near impossible to get many points or win as ive only just started it now and nearly every team I come up against has a top player (ronaldo,messi,rooney,kaka etc) and they just abuse that player by passing to him and running etc.

My marquee signing was Stephen Ireland (2,000 coins), could have got him for 1,500 but the 2,000 BIN was 4-4-2. Thinking of it like that, I really got a 4-4-2 formation card for 500 coins.

I got Hart 1,200 BIN which was an absolute steal. 4-4-2 Anderson for 1,100 BIN. Can't remember what I paid for Quaresma, but it wasn't more than 2,000. Most of the others were got for less than 1,000. Only one player I got from a gold pack (Zigic).

Its fairly solid, Smalling and Dunne are strong and good in the air, Zigic is a f*cking monster in the air, Yakubu is strong and has a bit of pace, Stephen Ireland is excellent.

Only had 2 people quit on me in about 20 games online which isn't bad, but I didnt get the win either time

This is my team at the minute. Really happy with it. Got lucky in my first couple of packs and it went nicely from there. Considering getting Anelka up front and then maybe Ligue 1 based CAM to boost the chemistry with Hazard/Remy on RM.

Does anyone find the matchmaking very off? Like I was playing the other night as my 1.5 star team and twice in a row I was paired against a 3.5 and 4 star team. Surely it should try match you against someone close to your current skill level. Coming up against the likes of A. Young and Amauri when your best player is Simon Davies is a bit of a pain

Managed to get a decent team together now though, in one gold pack I got Cambiasso and Muntari so my central midfield is solid as fcuk now.

I'm always matched with similar teams? At every stage I've been thrown up against teams that are very, very similarly rated to mine.

I haven't seen any of the "big" players yet, but then again, I haven't chanced a tournament yet.

Injuries are a killer. In one game last night, I had both my strikers (Yak & Carew) injured. I brought on Saha for the next game, and he gets injured too. Quaresma is out injured also (he is a walking sick note)...if I do a skill move to get past a defender and get fouled in the process, Quaresma gets injured. Duff is quite partial to the odd injury too.

Not too bad a team but I am getting beat by silver and struggling with bronze teams because of a few things:

the one twos through the centre of my defence.(defenders are like statues)

the one two and chip over cb for striker through on goal.(defender can never catch up????)

the winger rampaging down the wing who i can never knock off the ball.

Now I have tried the same manoeuvers on my opponents but it never works. I have lavezzi through on goal with 10 yards advantage but cb (even slower bronze ones ) always catches up.

any experts out there to help combat these tactics or tell me how to hold of defenders as im always easily muscled off the ball.
