went through hell to get this thing. however! every cloud had a silver lining, and theyve sent me a licence thats not restricted to automatic cars, which it should be

can someone advise me please. my licence should say somewhere on it "resctricted to automatics"

but it doesnt. it seems amiss due to a clerical error

    kind regards,
    Redd .

It won't be in writing. There should be a code 78 on the right hand side if you are restricted to automatics. Can't see because the pic is blurry.

bmw ive no idea what your reply means/

Btard that isnt my licence, i pulled it off the net to illustrate a licence. im looking at mine now and the right hand side, purple in the above licence, is completely blank besides the date it expires

You're complaining that they issued you the incorrect licence, but they've issued you a better licence then the one you passed:confused:

You need to contact the RSA and tell then to re-issue your licence or you could say nothing;)

What you scanned is a learner permit. The automatic restriction only applies to a full licence. If you pass a driving test in an automatic there will be a 78 code after the class b, on right hand side. You will also get back your learner permit in class b, because you will require it if you want to learn to drive a manual. Did you pass a driving test in an automatic ? If not , why do you think you're restricted to automatic cars ?

It's a full license that he has. It happens quite frequently believe it or not.

OP I would suggest that you dont post pictures of your licence on an open forum.

Also - OT, they do make mistakes, its possible that a clerical error has resulted in you getting a "better" licence than you were entitled to.

OP, what colour is the licence you have? Green or pink? It looks green in the image you posted, but that could because of the poor quality. If it's green, it's a learner permit, there would be no restrictions on whether it's automatic or not. If it's pink, then it's most likely a clerical error, if there's nothing there, you're not restricted to automatics

Looking at it again, the licence in the first pic is not the same as the one in the second. Look at the categories.

The colour does look strange. But as can be seen from the 'to' date of 2020, it is a full licence. So you're definately laughing, not complaining

My mate got a provisional that had him aged as 18 instead of 17, he used it as a valid id for a year until he did turn 18. You got a clerical error, a lucky one at that :)

this is my licence. should there be something here indicating automatic cars only?

Unless I am colour blind, that is a learners permit. If so the restriction will only be on the full licence after you pass in an automatic

It clearly looks pink to me??

Also, a learner permit does not last 10 years - a full licence does.

    x2...10 year...not restricted...full driving licence.

Happened my wife too. Although on the driving test side rather than the issuing of the license. Tester never marked the certificate of competence as automatic. He even went as far as saying to her, "And you know you can only drive an automatic now".
