Is there any way to get the outputs from the gyroscope on my galaxy s? I want to be able to output the values of the gyroscope to a .csv file to map the phones path without gps.

Gyroscope and GPS are very different. How would you map based on orientation etc?

I want to map a path through an underground car park where there is no line of sight so GPS wont work. My phone has a gyro and accelerometerso thought I could use that to map it instead.

Found a very good video of research being done here -

I don't know how accurate you could make it, it would be no where near GPS accuracy. But its a neat idea.

    Howdy,

The blog AndroGames blog has a couple of very good toots on their site about how to use the OrientationListener API. Might be worth a look... I hacked it for a synthesizer program.
