Tonight we're going to try a 2v2 night.

Depending on numbers we'll have a series of rounds along with a semi final and final like last week. I'll randomly pick teams and post them when we're ready to start.

You'll see me in IRC and Vent as Shiminay (my gamer tag).

the 1v1 last week was pretty amazing, so ill be in again this week.

but i think we should do a random 2v2 rather than people finding their own teammates.

We might also consider a group learning exercise by taking Day9's Funday Monday and putting it into practice (it's Terran with no Marines and Medivacs or something this week, isn't it?)

I'd very much like to put Day9' Fundays into motion one night a week and see what happens.

I'd also like to partake in some games also, which means Tuesdays and Thursday are not a runner for me

I'd like a 2v2, but it'll depend on numbers I guess.

Last week we had 12 players which would mean 6 teams if we had the same this week which would work out nicely.

Assuming that all goes well, I'd like to see us give the Funday Monday stuff a try just for the laugh too. I didn't get to watch yesterday's episode from Day[9] though, how did it go and what's the new week's challenge?

Semi-Final 2 (Team 3 vs Team 5) is currently underway.

Semi-Final 1 (Team 4 vs Team 8) is over with a victory for Team 4.

Late finish tonight, but the winners were Team 4 - grimE and Bogger who won the second and third games in the Best of 3 Final to take the victory.

Hard luck to Desp and BlueWing and an extra GG to grimE and Bogger for giving the thumbs up to a restart after Desp's Starcraft crashed out on him in the middle of the first game.

Thanks to everyone for turning up and playing tonight, I had a good laugh putting it all together - I hope you'll forgive the few delays trying to get people wrangled into place Also thanks to TheDoc for the Vent server as always.

I'll start a thread for Replays now if anyone's interested.

Now all we really need is our own ladder, arrange matches between each other when it suits and let it be done

yeah, there arent any custom ladders in BNet no? We could always use 3rd party ladder software.

Some really fun games last night... I think it supports my opinion that 2v2 is the strategic game while 1v1 is tactical.

I really need to learn to use Mutas better too...

Could use an external system or just simply set a thread here like or something, game doesnt support custom ladders ( but it ****ing should like)

Allows players to arrange their games themselves, challenges etc, similar to how any ladder works, they are used alot in Tennis. But best of all it promotes playing when it suits you, and obviously your opponent.

Run it for a set period then have a playoff with the top however many people.
