    sunderland6.jpg v mufcstk_1616_general.jpg

    Venue: Stadium of Light
    KO: 3pm
    Channel: Setanta1

    ---

    ----
    I'd like to see:

    VDS
    Rafael
    Rio---Vidic
    Evra
    Nani---Anderson--Fletcher--Obertan
    Berba
    Owen/Chico

I hope Anderson plays, really wanna see more of him, same with Obertan.
I think Owen deserves a starting place, but I can see Fergie starting Chico, tbh.

    Prediction: 3-1 United.

I think Sunderland could get a draw here. 1-1.

I think it will be more like:
    VDS
    O'Shea
    Rio---Vidic
    Evra
    Nani---Carrick--Fletcher--Park
    Berba
    Owen/Ando

Obviously ando will be in a a 5 man midfield if he plays.

It will be a hard game

Don't want Anderson starting, absolute jokers voting him in the top 3 motm for the valencia game.

Is Rooney out of the entire march squad?

I'd love to see Bebe come on at some stage.

Sunderland probs will look like this:

    Mignolet

    Onuoha - Turner - Bramble - Bardsley

    Al-Muhammadi - Cattermole - Henderson - Reid

    Malbranque

    Bent

Bardsley is rank rotten, Nani will destroy him.

Although I thought Park had a shocker against Valencia, I cant see Obertan being given his first start in months away to Sunderland, especially not in a 4 man midfield. The same goes for Bebe. The only other option would be to put O'Shea or Fabio at left back and Evra pushed forward but I cant see that either. Park and Nani will almost certain be on the wings.

Sunderland will probably go with 2 up front so SAF might go for 2 up front too but I wouldn't be surprised to see Ando playing behind Berbatov, which didn't really work during the week.

I agree, I can't really see us playing a 4 man midfield today. Sunderland are very tough in the middle of the park and this is possibly our toughest match of the season so far. I'd hate to see Obertan or Bebe today. Nothing against them but i don't think this is the ideal match to bring them in.

Fletch Carrick and Anderson with Nani and Park is what i'd guess. Or possibly Gibson in for Carrick/Ando.

Are Diouf and Wellbeck allowed to play for Sunderland today?

Welbeck isn't. I doubt Diouf is either, Blackburn might not be too happy about it. :pac:

What time will the squads be announced?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭fish fingers

VDS, O'Shea, Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael, Fletcher, Anderson, Scholes, Nani, Macheda, Owen

SUBS: Kuszczak, Evra, Smalling, Gibson, Bebe, Hernandez, Berbatov

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

Ah lads, Kiko and Owen up front! And fletch shoved to the right hand side I presume? No Patrice.

I have a sick feeling in my stomach. I want Chico :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,974 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Ah Scholes is playing? Yay! But nay because of FF and him being my 3rd sub.

That's an unusual team but I'll take it.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

I'm interested to see how that team does tbh. Looking forward to it!

    wow.

i wouldn't have thought Sunderland away is the time to try new things by leaving out your, by all accounts, best and in-form frontman.

this arrogant, stupid or a slice of genius from Ferguson IMO.

and we'll know in a couple of hours.

Berbatov has had two very poor games in a row. Great start to the season but he seems to be back to his old self last 2 games.

Therefore why not give someone else a go??

    Teams looks good.

    Kick off delayed ?

    SUNDERLAND-MAN UTD DELAYED KICK-OFF:
A burst pipe above the Manchester United dressing room has caused the ceiling to collapse and we will now kick off at 1520 BST. Cue a mad rush by the fans back towards the bars.

    lol

Alex Ferguson is getting more and more violent with his speeches!

20 minute delay to kick off due to burst water pipes in the united dressing room disrupting their preparations...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,595 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    Sunderland starting 11;
Mignolet;Onuoha, Turner, Bramble, Bardsley; Malbranque, Cattermole, Henderson, Zenden, Elmohamady; Bent.

    Asamoah on the bench.

Interesting to see Bebe getting onto ManU's bench, wonder if we'll see him get a game.

    Oh my God.

That is the worst piece of commentary I have ever heard.

"Maybe the Stadium of Flood instead of the Stadium of Light today"

    Sweet baby Jesus.

"United are lined up very defensively; I mean Ferdinand, Vidic, O'Shea, all very defense-minded"

    WTF?

They're defenders, they're supposed to be like that!

What happened ? just switched on Setanta and they said "most of the fans dont know what happened, but we do" ? Was it just delayed because of the rain ?

    Burst pipe in dressing room.

It's surely Macheda on the left again with permission to switch with Nani, and roam about generally. If it's Anderson in the same role as Valencia, it's not a very defensive team at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,824 ✭✭✭ShooterSF

Water ya at lads? Let's not turn this thread into a wash out with a flood of puns.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,026 ✭✭✭✭adox

I know Utd have had a leaky defence but they could at least wait till they get out of the dressing room.

Nani's playing like a little sissy again. I hate saying it, because some of the stuff he's produced over the last few seasons has been stunning, but when he lies on the ground for two minutes after a nothing tackle there's no other way to describe it.
