If you've beaten the game and then replay the last level (use Continue in the main menu), you can reduce your overall bullet count by using fewer bullets on the last level. I dropped mine to 279

How do you mean a memory test?

pick one area to aim for. Then pick a block to bounce of horizontally and count them (in halves if required). Same for vertical shots, I use my bookmark bar to remember the angle.
Assign the points to each person, once it works, remember it. Then do it step by step.
