Sun-Dried Tomatoes

    Two Questions:

1)I know they're not the healthiest of foods, but around how many calories are in a sun-dried tomato that has been well-drained? I buy the ones from Lidil, so they are packed with oil and preservatives (which I know I should be avoiding, but a little bit of what you like...)

    2) Is there a healthier alternative to the kind packed in oil? Can you get ones without preservatives/make your own?

You can buy bags of dried ones that you would re-hydrate yourself in oil or in a recipe. I suppose like dried fruit , you'd have to check for any added nasties.
