Spain: Ten million workers take part in general strike

Nearly 70 percent of Spanish workers—10 million—took part in Wednesday’s general strike. In some sectors, such as mining, metal, auto manufacture, electronic, fishing and other industries, participation was nearly 100 percent. The movement also encompassed many self-employed workers and small businesses.

Would Fluoride be the reason we don't protest?

    No,the recession.
Workers went on strike in opposition to the austerity measures and anti-labour reforms implemented by the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) government of President José Zapatero.

Tbh digme I just dont irelands leftwing are as militant as in spain or indeed greece.

Dont forget their civil war was fought between communists, socialist and anarchists against the fascists,so the dividing line between left and right of politics would be more extreme than here.

EDIT:and no I dont think its the flouride ,I think its just political apathy on our part

Apparently it helps to relax the sphincter muscles.

There's a ct out there about fluoride making people passive and malleable.

I think they may be brushing the wrong end.

I haven't heard of that one before :pac:

This is more to do with the political climate (as was mentioned earlier by Lab_Mouse).

...and fear for the future of our country if right-wing violence-seeking psychopaths like that are ever in charge. :pac:

no it's not. the reason is that most people are not that badly affected.

Public sector don't protest as they've all kept their gold plated jobs
private sector don't protest cos they're too busy trying to keep their jobs

OAPs don't protest cos they still on good pension terms
Student don't protest cos that would just draw more attention to college fees

A sizeable majority of welfare recipients don't protest cos they're spongers on a good deal to do nothing.

The rest just isn't a big enough amount to get anything done.
