Toning is done through diet (and exercise)!

Squatting will firm up the legs/bum.

    Alternatively legpress and lunges.

+1 on squats & lunges. Have a look on youtube and you'll find loads of videos showing you how to do them correctly and you'll find variations too (e.g. split squat, side lunge etc).

Some leg bridge exercises are good for your hamstrings & glutes (again, have a look on youtube).

Also, cycling is particularly great for your quads, and running is a great overall exercise for the legs. :D

    Quoted again for further emphasis.

Lose body fat (not total weight but body fat...big difference and common mistake) and exercise your gluts with what the guys suggested.

    1) Lose body fat.
    2) Go running.
    3) Squats, lunges etc.

You could try the "pick up a pen" esercise! I only recently discovered this, did 20, 10 each leg, and omg could I feel it in my bum the next day!!! :D

What you do is (I'll probably explain this really badly!) put a pen on the floor, or you can use an imaginary one, standing on one leg bend the knee and with the other leg bent and cocked out behind (you will probably find yourself doing it naturally for balance) bend down to pick up the pen! Then do the other leg... and so on!
