Check out this website first...Darablack.com Presume you're talking about Q6.!
    Q6.
You'll be asked to identify 3 notes at a certain point marked x from an extract/excerpt (the piece will be played but everything you need is on the page)..

the notes are from a triad (look up what a triad is)
Re-arrange the 3 notes in your rough work so they are all on a line-line-line or space-space-space (e.g. you could move the e on a space down to an e on the line)
The bottom note (the root) gives you the name of the chord.

You will also be asked what part of the melody would fit this chord (usually give 3 choices of bars)... imagine a guitarist strumming a chord.. what melody notes would 'fit' that chord? ... basically majority rules..
Example1: if the melody notes were g,,d,e,e,d,e,d would an F chord (with triad/chord notes F A C in it ) fit it.. Answer no as all the non chord notes would clash..
Example2: If the melody notes were F,g,a,Bb,c,c,d,e,e,d,c,f,a would an F chord fit... Answer yes as most of the notes go with the chord notes

Then you will be asked what the triad would look like in the bass clef.. Remember the spaces on the bass clef are All Cows Eat Grass...

A lot of multiple choice for this answer.. GUESS IF YOU HAVN:T A CLUE!!

    Hope that helps!

    Which question?

Here's the marking scheme for melody from 2010 , Attachment not found.

you'll find it under marking scheme (instead of exam papers) on examinations.ie
