Newstalk are reporting that our friend in the "Toxic bank" cement truck has attempted to ram the gates.

I hope the Gardaí don't close it off all day due to the protest later on.

It was a cement truck, apparently it was delivering the concrete changes that Enda Kenny was looking for.

    Protest yes, but peacefully.
If that was America and the White House, the snipers on top of the building would have took the driver out.

Anyway, with the protest marches today, looks like the re-opening of the Dail today, is off to a good start.

After the TD getting away with attempting to drink drive in the dail car park perhaps normal laws dont apply, maybe they will compensate him for damage to his truck.

I'm wondering how poor the mechanics must be if they are struggling to move it.

An old volvo like that should be easily started wether he cut the power cables or not

It's a disgrace that people are protesting against the government.

People should write strongly worded letters, and then hold onto them, don't send them in case you change your mind about what you've written in the heat of the moment.

Probably just looking for someone top buy his cement.
It's a harsh market out there.

Or maybe Paddy Sheehan just has a new mode of transport.

It looks like he has some sort of hoarding built around the drum. Was he planning some sort of A-team operation?

Covered it with canvas so the guards wouldn't pull him over prematurely.

Maybe Ben Dunne was sending around more free cement, for the next kitchen he was going to build for free for a FF TD!

No strings attached of course!

It's a response to Brian Lenihan's statement about 2010 Quarter 1 results on the Department of Finance website:
“These economic figures show that Ireland is out of recession with GDP expanding by 2.7 per cent between the final quarter of last year and the first quarter of this year, which is the fastest growth rate in the OECD.

    This provides concrete evidence...(etc etc...)

Edit: beaten by Slunk. Oh the shame.

Yea, about time! Pity he didn't mow down a Minister or one of the Gardai too, that'll show'em! Wouldn't it be awesome, someone getting hit with a truck, going under the wheels and getting squashed or, even better, being on the other side of the gates and being pinned to the ground if they had come down. Loads of pictures in the media too so the families could see, yea brilliant!

Seriously, what the **** is wrong with you people? Fair play to him? What kind of ****ing simpleton thinks this was a good idea and will accomplish anything constructive?

EDIT: Seems like the gate wasn't rammed as per the original thread title, phew. My sentiments are the same regarding those that thought the original story was justified though.
