Jesus, the power of a whole weather forum exercising positive thinking!!

I can't even begin to imagine the depth of snow we will get this winter if they keep this up.

I can't even get a little dribble from Bardabunga on my own. I need more help here. :D

If you fastforward past Tuesday on that site there will apparently be no weather. Do they know something they aren't telling us? Is this why Cowen is unconcerned about the state of the economy? Time to dig a storm cellar. ;)

With 334mph gusts you would be lucky to have the foundations of your house left so electricity wouldn't be too high up on the list of things to worry about :D

If we put up a sail and the wind is going in the right direction we could end up in the St Lawrence Gulf. With our luck we'd never make it to the Gulf of Mexico with lovely weather and hurricanes both.

Just wondering is it possible to ever get wind at that speed? has it ever happened?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,295 ✭✭✭pauldry

will i be able to sky plus the apprentice?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

Of course it's a mistake. The gusts are only gonna be in the 170-190 mph region.

Oh yeah and it's weather for hanging out clothes apparently. Has anyone made that joke yet?

During the passage of Tropical Cyclone Olivia on 10 April 1996, an automatic weather station on Barrow Island, Australia, registered a maximum wind gust of 408 km/h (220 kn; 253 mph)

Keep an eye on the thread about that on this forum. It's a very changeable situation though.
