The only time I tuck my jeans into my socks is when I am digging out the balconey and stairs. Its awful chilly getting snow down your socks. We usually get a few feet of snow in the winter. But don't worry, I avoid the yellow snow!

Ah yeah, stylish stuff. In Glasgow they call them "jobbie catchers".
    A "jobbie" being a shïte.

Walking through wet grass or similar is the only reason anyone should do it.

At the moment my pants are too long for my legs, so I tuck them into my shoes like a goose. Thankfully it's barely noticable.

With regard to the pants-socks-skanger thing, I imagine alot of them would do it precisely because it looks skangery. Knacker fashion and all that.

I hate people who tuck t-shirts into their trousers, looks so geeky, I always feel like beating the sh1te out of people who do it

It's the big thing in Traveller fashion at the moment-maybe they do it in case they come across a piebald that needs riding down the street.

To keep the buckfast-induced diarrhoea from leaking out all over their new Penney's trainers.

You guys are missing the point oh they might wear classic Reeboks
maybe even knackered Converse with tracky bottoms tucked in socks
But thats not the point the point's that there ain't no romance around there .

I think it would be a great idea if we could have a fashion show for skangers. Think of it - a catwalk with skangers strutting up and down with all their gear on and a commentator saying something to the effect of 'and Anto models this year's Reebok Autumn collection'. You would have all the VIP's in attendance too, such as Scooter and NDubz.

Haven't seen anyone doing this in a while but I went to school in Crumlin though and when I was in 4th year (so about 7 years ago) the trend was to tuck tracksuit bottoms (usually lacoste) into Burberry socks, and what made it worse these were girls going around dressed like that!
It was vile. Sometimes there were even matching Burberry caps!!

This buggs the crap out of me!!! Seriously how can they possibly think they look cool?? Did they just get off a bicycle or something and forget to untuck them!! Or did they see some rapper on mtv doing it and think, "I'm a scrawny little scumbag so i'm gonna dress like a bad ass rapper so i look tough!................... GOB*****S!!!!!!

If it wasn't skangers wearing their trousers like that, would you still think it looks skangery?

Personally i couldn't give a fook how people dress. And people who do care, i pity them!

Yes it very much is skangery. Can't stand it when people do it. Now could happen to me if I am in a rush somewhere, but if I notice it on time before going out to door I'll fix it straight away.

A buddy of mine works as a security man in HMV and he says scumbags tuck their pants into their socks because then they can rob stuff, put it down their pants as far as their anckles and when they walk out of the shop they wont set off the theft alarm because the item they have robbed is lower then the sensor beam.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭PhiloCypher

The only thing more worse then the fact they tuck there trackies into there socks is the fact they tuck their money into their shoes(like as if their drug dealer isn't gonna look there after he's done breaking their arm lol) .

I don't get why thread of the day aint guy paints his truck and tries to smash it into Leinster house... But thats this country... we can be bumriddin by our own government but shhhhh lets keep it light...hows yer trousers and socks. Not sayin thread of the day should be political...or we should protest like the French. But its a major discussion forum and there is serious s**t happening. Just a small point. I'm a big fan of boards.ie - would just like to see use its influence a bit more. As Bill Hicks says just pipe us 24 hours of American Gladiators on tv and we'll do and say as you want...

the excuse most people use is that the have no elasticated support on the bottom of the track suit but why they do the socks over it is beyond me its like arguement about wearing pyjamas as normal clothing unexplainable

It's in case the shades show up and they need to scatter behind some back-gardens.

Novice scummers get caught becuase they trip on their pants. :pac:

If we stayed on-topic we'd have trousers over there tucked into socks over there, and we'd be falling over the trouser legs as we tried to get out of this surreal drapery.
