Hibernation is my preferred method of normal shutdown. I've just installed Xp on another laptop, and the Power Options does not have the Hibernation tab on the properties sheet. How can I enable it ?

Power Properties > Hibernate > Enable Hibernation

Power Options does not have the Hibernation tab on the properties sheet

[edit] On a restart, the tab is now there !

Also, if anyone else has this issue, try

    start/run and type cmd

    Then type powercfg /hibernate on
