Anyone know where you can pick up a decently sized bag for a reasonable price?

Most supermarkets do those 250g bags for 4 euro. Surely you can pick them up cheaper than that?

Tesco are actually pretty good for nuts I find, and they are way nicer than Dunnes & H&B (i.e. Neal's Yard). They do 300g of Brazil nuts for €3.30, 100g of Macademica nuts for €2 which are usually way more expensive, and 250g of walnuts for €2.50-ish I think. You may need to try acouple of different spots in the store though, certainly in my Tesco they do different sizes in different places.

x2 to the tesco nuts, they work out quite cheap in general when compared to health food shops... Well that applies up to about 1kg, when the health stores seem to give better price per kilo.

Almonds and cashews from the Asia Market on Drury st. have kilo bags for very cheap. Failing that a lot of those other oriental/asian places will do them for a similarly low price (Asia Market is the lowest I've found so far though).

i reckon aldi mixed nuts are far superior than most places in terms of content and price! except for maybe sainsburys....but youd have to go to belfast for them...might negate from the cost aspect of things, but v tasty!

I buy a bag of cashews, a bag of almonds, a bag of walnuts, salted peanuts and one of hazelnuts in Aldi. I mix them all together in a big tub and have them for the week. Great value, just wish they had Brazil nuts too.

Sound stuff, Drury street is just round the corner from college, I'll try get my hands on a few big sacks.

Failing that I'll grab a few nuts down at Lidl, there's one down the road aswell.
