Oscar winner among Late Late guests
One of Hollywood's most acclaimed actors will be among Ryan Tubridy's guests on 'The Late Late Show'.

'Mystic River' and 'The Shawshank Redemption' star Tim Robbins will be talking about his work and performing with his group, The Rogues Gallery Band. Also appearing on Friday night's show will be World Boxing Champion Katie Taylor and actors Alan Rickman and Fiona Shaw, who will be taking to the stage in the Abbey next month.

Another musical guest will be Eliza Doolittle, who will be performing her new single, 'Pack Up'.'The Late Late Show' is on RTÉ One tonight at 9:35pm.

Tim Robbins, who I loved in Arlington Road :), looking forward to that.. Katie Taylor is a lovely girl, but doesnt really come across well in interview. Alan Rickman should be interesting as well, he was great in Die Hard and Robin Hood.. Compared to the sh1te they served up last week, this is a stellar line up of guests.

Oh, I like her interviews, I think she comes across very down to earth and humble and I think that anyone who watches her in an interview is very much endeared to her....

Lovely down to earth girl, but I think what Jonathon is saying is that she is quite monotone and bland. Needs to vary it and be a wee bit more "excited" and "passionate." Liam Brady and Stephen Roche come to mind too.

Bill Bailey is on it too.

    Should be good.

Why are people saying this will be good? Ryan Tubridy could make an interview with Peter Ustinov, Eric Idle and Spike Milligan go wrong.

Bill Bailey should be good, Alan Rickman wasn't he in Micheal Collins? I get what you're saying about Katie she doesn't come across well.

Isn't Tim Robbins crazy tall, 6' 8" or there abouts. Great actor. Good line up tonight so it should be a decent show. I also agree that Katie Taylor doesn't come across well in interviews and she is quite monotone but I wouldn't hold that against her as I'm sure she's not too worried about it.

I think Katie Taylor is brilliant.
Talented, smart, tough, beautiful and still world champ.
It great to see a young talented Irish woman famous for her achievements rather than the usual bimbos appearing on the LLS.

More power to her, and if she slaps Tubs around the place because of one of his condescending remarks tonight, I say Katie for President!

Does it always say "this show contains product placement." at the start of the late late ? I know people say Katie isn't the best interviewee but she just seems like a lovely girl who is shy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

Katie's very pretty, but she should have hit the stylist a thump.. She's wearing a Cheetah around her neck...

Did anybody see the Semi Final with the American, she was VERY close to losing that.. best fight I've seen in the last two years... She's an incredible girl though, just hope that she hasnt peaked too soon before the Olypmics

He should mention that the people of Ireland couldn't watch the fight live on TV as RTE2 were instead showing the Pink Panther :D
