    Hi all,

I injured a disc in my back in February, fell on my back in the ice on the road while walking, but thankfully Im much better now. I haven't taken any exercise since and feel grotty and lethargic.

Given my injury, would I be foolish to take up exercise again? I have a weights bench I used to use regularly for upper body strength but I am a bit fearful of using that again.

So any suggestions on the type of exercise I could take up instead? Not sure about joining a gym as I am nervous I may injure myself again.

I would love to know who I could ask for advice on this maybe a fitness instructor or someone who has injured their back in a similar way - I posted on the Fitness forum as you guys seem really clued in.

Sorry Rockery Woman but you should really get the all clear to start training again from the Doctor or Physio who treated your back injury. A good sports physio should be able to recommend some exercises for you.

I have closed this thread as even with the best will in the world, someone could recommend an exercise which aggravates your back injury.
