Looking for people involved in the supplement industry

    Greetings,

I'm a freelance journo, currently putting together a piece about supplements for my thesis at college.

I've spoken to a leading "authority" (Doctor) on the subject and plan to speak to a couple more.

Obviously there's been a lot of classic scaremongering in what I've heard so far.

I'm fairly convinced a lot of it is bollocks and I'd like to put together a balanced piece (something that has been sorely lacking in media coverage of supplements).

So if anyone working in the industry would be willing to go on the record and would like a right of reply, please contact me by PM and let me know who you are.

I'll hopefully contact some of you within the next week.

After I get the thesis out of the way I'll be pitching a shortened version to newspapers. I obviously can't guarantee publication but anyone interested in talking let me know.

    Regards,

    Steve

Actually, before you put pen to paper, seek out Dr Niall Moyna in DCU. I've never heard him speak about supps, but he has some strong views on diets etc... might be worth a look. Apologies/regards etc...

    Thanks folks.

It seems easy enough to find people warning about the dangers etc.

There's been quite a bit of that in the media.

I'd like to find some opposing views from trainers, business owners, etc. for a balanced story.

I know from my own reading that a lot of the stuff in the press has been far-fetched but for a journalistic piece I have to leave my own views out of it and try present both sides of argument from credible sources.

I've seen from lurking here in the past that there are quite a few of the above that have complained about past media coverage.

I work for a nutrition company. If you PM me your details I will try to give you an insight into the industry.

    Any more takers?

Just saw there's a media introductions forum I was supposed to use first.

Apologies. Happy to address any suspicions any of you may have
