Unflavoured protein

I'm following a low carb diet at the moment, and I found a recipe for a shake that calls for a scoop of unflavoured protein. Where would I get this in Ireland, I presume a health food shop? Can anyone recommend a decent brand?

That's a great link, thanks. But I can't seem to find unflavoured protein, is there another name for it?

Sorry for being so clueless, I've just never used it before.

Depends what you are making, but you can often use vanilla flavour instead of unflavoured. Most whey is not that strongly flavoured, so a bit of vanilla won't ruin it.

    This is the recipe:

    4 oz almond milk
    2 tbsps coconut milk NSA
    2TSP cocoa powder NSA
    1 scoop unflavored protein
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 packet splenda (optional)

Vanilla flavour would probably work well, I'd just leave the essence out I suppose.

That myprotein site charges either £5 or £7 postage to Ireland, but up to 25kg -the thing is most people buying from there are doing strength training and buying large amounts.

I have used them and would recommend them, but if you wanted smaller amounts some Irish sites might be cheaper as some have free postage. There are a few regular shops with body-building supplements who might have it, though I think many tend to have branded stuff which is usually flavoured. Holland & barrett have sales on it the odd time, I think it is flavoured though and it gets some poor reviews from members here -e.g. mixability and taste.

This is one type on my protein

My code for myprotein is MP99441 it gets 5% off, but only on your first order.

As said you could always get a vanilla flavour one which would have a milder taste, you are also adding chocolate to the shake so it might be cheaper just to get chocolate whey.

These are some irish stores, the first has free postage
