Just got a message from a mate, apparently he had a slammer a little while ago. Years of drugs abuse caught up with him. Great singer and great band.

Can't from a mobile. Maybe a mod will if they see fit.

Aslan could have been a world beater if it wasn't for the drugs.
    Christy was a victim.

Aslan were a truly atrocious band. Really terrible derivative crap.

That's just loser-talk. Lots of bands managed to be world-beaters whilst doing loads of drugs too.

Don't mind him NoHornJan. On threads like this there's always someone trying to get the needle in.

The reason they never made it outside Ireland was not "drugs", as the fans would like to believe.

It is because they are incredibly sh1t.

I remember around 1988 when Cineworld was just one big massive car park, Aslan played a free gig there, was amazing.

Oh come on... contrary to popular belief SOME of Aslan's songs are amazing... better than fúcking Bono anyway!

No, not 'massive' as in size and all like, massive as in deadly.

I wouldn't know - I've never f*cked Bono. Was he really bad or did he just have a tiny penis?

That's still no excuse ! No, Aslan is still indefensible muck. Fact. Even if you got pissed, got your hole while high all for the first time listening to them, there's counselling for that. You can be CURED !

I'm shocked at the amount of people who say this. Eh, no, Aslan are a shít band. They have one song that I can think of and the only other one I know is a cover of a Pink Floyd song. Both are horrendous car crashes of songs.

    They are shít.

Don't agree with this now, unless you're forced to take the drugs then nobody is a victim.

im going to wiki aslan and their discog, and formulate one of their song titles into a clever and amusing pun related to the false death report in this thread

Anyone ever go to a concert? My mate went to one in the Red Cow hotel, he said there was a drunk heavily pregnant skanger with no teeth in a fight. She was throwing chairs across the room at someone.
I'd say that's normal for an aslan concert.

"Aggghhh I have a pain in my chest" a mediocre ballad that reached 47 in the Irish charts in 1997. from the 'internet rumour' album
