Hi, whats peoples opions ( if any) on this mag... Iv been buying it for ages and was wondering if the monthly all body workouts are a good program to stick to. Im looking to bulk up a bit nothing major or anything. Im 5,7 and about 62 kgs and am 25 yr old. Diets not to good, trying to eat better more veg and fruit and get back to drinking more water. Will also be starting back kickboxing and jits in next week or so. Been lacking motivation lately and really want to start back reguarly and get healthier and fitter. Any addvice would be great

My dad used to buy it.

The only opinion I have on them is, if this issues workout is meant to be the best ever. Then how cant hey justify about 3 new ones in every edition?

I honestly don't know where they get their workouts from. You'd have to laugh at some of them.

Men'd Health/Fitness are interesting enough mags, but the workouts are usually pants and a lot of it (diet etc) is based on bad science.

I still buy them, only for something to read on the train.

Just wondering if there's a fitness/lifestyle mag out there that you'd recommend, I usually buy Mens Health but while I like parts of it all the clothing, accessories type elements are way beyond my (£22,000 for a watch? etc) means. Is there a mag that features more affordable products?
Not really a big problem I know, but still.......

My only interaction with this magazine was picking it up after someone left it on the train.

    Two articles:

You should squat in a smith machine as it targets the quads more.
    and
Get these biceps in 30 days (picture was of an arm the thickness of my leg)

Didn't really sell itself to me on being something I could trust.

The owner of this magazine is also the owner of national enquirer need i say more!
But in all seriousness its complete ****, most of the "amazing" training programmes they go on about are bull****,complete and utter. Nearly every model on the cover bar celebs are on steroids. Now i have nothing wrong with that at all but they never tell you that,so a programme that demands amazing recovery rates through drugs are offered to you without actually telling you the guys who did these programmes took a b and c drug.
Theres an amazing article on t-muscle about the history of mens fitness, muscle and fitness and a few others, set up by snake oil pricks trying to make a quick buck off people who dont know better.
sorry re-reading this it comes off pretty depressing!! but better to know i guess

They have to include programs obviously, and generally they revolve around the big lifts, with various amounts of bullsh1t throw in as filler.
Its a mag, they have to keep printing new things, which is obviously nonsense, the stuff that was good last year still is, and will be next year. I pretty much ignore those sections.

6 week guns, beach body abs, yada yada are there to sell copies to the bicep merchants. And tbh if you expect an amazing 6 week program then your on better than these guys.

The interviews with various athletes can be interesting, training programs coming up to various comps, the food and diet section is pretty good too. There are only so many ways to deadlift, but the possibilities with a bit of chicken are endless.
