What would it be!? it doesn't matter if it's your full name or your first or second only?

I'm pretty bored and thinking of changing my surname but to something just as ordinary as the one I have now.

If? Is there any real reason why one could not change their name by deed poll?

I'd change it to Inigo Montoya.

    You killed my father.

    Prepare to die.

Or Tarquin Montague III...oh wait, silly me, that is my real name...

My first name was a very unusual name, it was a made up name, this coupled with my surname which is a south african name, made roll calls in school a nightmare when we had a new teacher.

When I was 17 and started going out, I just shortened my first name so it was more Irish/English sounding, it was only my first name I changed, would never change my surname :)

    What difference would it make?

If you want to be called Superman or Batman
then OK but if your name Ebineezer why change?

No it was surprisingly very easy, I was going to get my passport renewed when I was 18 and I just filled in the form with my new first name.

Went to, Garda station, just told them I wanted to change my first name, they signed off the form as normal. When I got my passport, they just put my original name on one of the note pages. The last time I went to renew my passport they didn't put my original name on the notes page.

No don't regret it, suppose I felt a bit guilty for my parents, but they were cool with it and always called me by my new name.

Often thought of changing my christian name to "Answer". It's such a cool name. But me parents christened me "Ask" so I guess that's the way it will stay.

Mine is going to be changed fairly shortly. It's not as expensive as people think, a small fee and a witness to swear by you will continue to use the name is all you need.

So far all I want to do is drop part of my name, rather than a complete alteration. As far as I know, you have to have good grounds for a complete name change.

I might have looked into it >_>

No, thankfully never bullied over it, a bit of slagging maybe but never viewed it as being bullied.
