Ros Payment Question

    Hi

I have a quick Q and I would be grateful if anyone can help.

If an income tax return is filed on ROS, can payment be made by simply completing the payment payslip and sending this along with a cheque to the Collector General?

Or is it necessary to make the payment online also, via the single debit authority or by laser?

You can file a return on ROS without payment - you will get an option to "file return only" at the end. You can them make payment manually afterwards. Note though that you only get credit for the payment when received so you would still be liable for interest and penalties if you were late. Most importantly the filing extension for filing on ROS only applies if you file and pay on ROS. If you file only, you must do so by the normal date (31 October for income tax).

    Regards

Hope I'm not hijacking here. I filed and paid on ROS last week. I received the acknowledgement email/pdf on ROS, but I'm getting worried because Revenue haven't deducted the funds from my account yet. Is this the same for some other people? Should I be worrying?

    Hi

It can take a few days to come through depending on where your bank account is held.
