How many ps2 games are there, well maybe that's an impossible q as there are some games still coming out.

My goal is to have every pal ps2 game.

I have mostly every PS2 game I actually want and I still have around 200 games, and they take up lotsa room.
Problem with the PS2 is that, for every SOTC and MGS3 you have a couple of dozen Army Men and Shrek Kart Racing.
So, if you want a collection of sh1te you will probably never bring yourself to play, go right ahead.

But take my advice, collect you fave developers/publishers on the PS2 instead.
Get all Sega games, all Namco games, maybe all of Square or Koei games, I don't know.
It's the only way, like I said, to avoid the vast quantity of muck that was released onto the PS2.

HMMM mybe I should limit it, but space is no issue. Free bedroom / game room. (we have 4 bedroom and only use 2 in the house as just 4 people.)

Also my wife is that rare beast who doesn't mind too much her husband playing games. Although she prefers I play new games. ("That looks old can't you get a ps3?")

I think you would have a better chance in having a second-hand shop that sells all types of items, with a focus on electronics. Cash Converters in Cork do that, and they still stock plenty of snes onwards games. I wouldn't get my hopes up to be honest.

I think it would be impossible to collect every Pal PS2 game tbh. Given the amount of cheap-ass PS2 games that Ive seen on stands in the likes of pound shops that Ive never seen before or since I dont think anyone could possibly hope to (or want to!) own them all!

Wiki alone lists 2015 ps2 games, but not all pal.

So I think that plan is out.

Also I emailed SCEE and thay actually gave me an answer.

    There have being drumroll...

3198 ps2 games released in europe up to late 2009. They didn't give me records for 2010

Mother of christ, that's a lot of games. 4 and a half times bigger than the Megadrive PAL library.

I think you can call it quits on that idea alright!
