    Hi all,

This is another noob-type thread so feel free to ignore, nut I'd really appreciate some advice from people in the know.

I've read through the stickies etc but am hoping for some specific info for my situation.

So, I'm 29, about 6'1 and about 15 and a half stone. The weight has been creeping up for a few years and I think it's time to do something about it. Diet wise, it's not that bad overall. I try to eat fairly well balanced meals with a good bit of veg and I'm not a snacker. Portions are probably too big, and I eat fast and then might not eat for 6 or 8 hours. Not good I know! I could also drink a bit less alcohol...

My main problem I think is my sedentary lifestyle. I work from home and am on the computer all day. Some days I don't even leave the house and move between 3 or 4 rooms. I could probably be in a lot worse shape considering...

When I was in my early twenties I lost a good bit of weight (probably too much, I was down to about 11 and a half stone at one stage) mainly through weight training at home which I enjoyed, so hopefully I could go down that route again. I suspect though that I could have made it a lot easier on myself, so I'm looking to do a bit of research into it now before starting something.

I'm looking to use my time as effectively and efficiently as possible. I was looking at Transform's blog and was fascinated/amazed at the statistics regarding interval training.

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions/links for me in terms of IT/metcon (well up on the lingo already :p) ideas that might suit me. (as in, using free weights/minimal equipment)

So I have free weights and a bench so I would be looking to incorporate these. I'm not a big fan of aerobic exercise to be honest although I know some of that will be required. I will be playing badminton once a week so that's something I suppose. Should I get one of these kettlebell yokes? They seem popular.

Also if anyone has any ideas/links on general weight training, eating etc that would be great.

    Thanks

Kettlebells are great if you want to get more for less in terms of time spent training. Do a few Kettlebell Tabata workouts along with whatever else you do and you'll feel it.
