I'm not going to endorse smoking OP but I know a couple of women (non smokers) who swear that a spliff is by far and away the best thing for cramps in this situation.

    This doesn't work for everyone.

Can you call yourself a non-smoker if you smoke spliffs?

I hate the ones that feel like someone is twisting your womb and pulling it down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,879 ✭✭✭Coriolanus

Nah, it's called Lybrel. The dose is just spread out over the full 28 days instead of 22 afaik, so there's no sugar pill to allow menstruation to start.
Alternatively, a woman can just start a new pack on day 22 for the same effect, though she'll be taking a higher dose continuously. Lybrel divides the same amount of hormone from a normal pack across 28 days, rather than 22, so if you use the start a new pack method you'd be ingesting.... 20% more hormone a month?
    Something like that anyway.

Whats the difference between regular blood and period blood?
You cant' pick regular blood up with a fork!

Really bad you can't move or eat or makes you throw up when you've got cramps you need to talk to you dr about it.

Periods aren't manky they are just a fact of life.
Over half the population of the planet has to endure them for at least 30/40 years.

I was going to offer the same advice, but I thought the ladies would take the head off a man offering advice on period pain.

When my daughter started her's first thing I done was buy her her own hotwater bottle - she loved me for it :p

Yeah but the other half of the population don't want to know about such facts while eating their coco pops on a Sunday morning.

Talking about painful cramps is hardly manky. Far less than your Flutts average post. Guess you'd rather read that then?

    ^Whats that mean???

After Hours is hardly the place to discuss female medical issues is it? Might get a more considerate/sympathetic reception in the Ladies Lounge perhaps?
