Ok lads long story short. this time last year i was a fairly fit guy and doin well. having completed my first endurance race and 3 tri athlons

Now i am 3 weeks off the fags and about 2 stone heavier :(

I have been dieting for the last 2 weeks and back exercising!!! I'll give a brief breakdown of exercise and diet.

    Mon Gym

    Tues swim am gym pm

    Wed rest

    Thurs run am gym pm

    Friday swim am gym pm

    Sat/Sun Long Cycle

    Foodwise:

Breakfast is a bowl of no added sugar museli and a cup of coffee with milk

Lunch is either a ham lettuce and cheese wrap or brown bread ham lettuce and cheese sandwich, and an apple

Dinner is usally a stir fried based dish with rice ir noodles and maybe once a week a mince dish i.e. shepards pie or lasagne and salad.

I'd normally have 4-5 cups of coffee also throughout the day and about 1 1/2-2 litres of water.

I do not eat after dinner but found one day last week i woke about 4.30am stavin!!!!

I know i have food issues and once i start a diet it tends to be an all or nothing approach.

But this time i'd like to do it properly.

The only adjustments ove the last 2 weeks was since tuesday i have added a bananna to my diet each day.

I really want some advice around healthy snacks i could have during the day and maybe at night

    Thanks a mill folks:o

From what you are posting, your diet looks woefully low in protein, and as an athlete, you need a lot more protein than average.

I'd open a free account with www.fitday.com and see how much you are actually eating, and see how it compares with what you need. But I reckon that persistent hunger is a definite sign you need to eat more.

I dont think you are eating enough at all, and as said before you need more protein. You are eating less then me and I am a girl who does much, much less exercise. Healthy snacks, nuts, yogurt (plain), small handful of raisans. Stop eating sandwiches for lunch. Eat brown rice instead of noodles, there is wheat for three meals there no wonder you are starving. Porridge for breakfast and much more meat/ cheese/ egg and veg for lunch. Sandwiches are not your friend.

Anyone who does that amount of exercise is an athlete, regardless of their actual shape.
