Most painful thing that has ever happened to you?

Last night I dislocated my shoulder playing rugby. I was brought to hospital where they x-rayed me etc. It took them two agonising hours before they gave me some sweet sweet morphine and some other drug that knocked me out (not really knocked me out but I can't remember the doctor putting my shoulder back in).

I can't describe how painful it was, I've broken my arm and that seems pleasant in comparison to a dislocated shoulder.

It felt like I was giving birth through my shoulder.

What's the worst physical pain you've had?

I've been in crashes, I've had bad falls, I have a slipped disc in my back but all of these are like a walk in the park compared to stubbing your toe on wood or walking on a plug when the three pins are faced upwards.

I can remember having an ear infection as a kid which drove me mental with agony one night. It was like a direct pain motorway into my brain.
The mother gave me a heavy duty "Bruffen" pain killer tablet she took for her slipped disc.

Tearing my abdominal muscles four times now

what nearly hurts more is how they happened

First was a kick in the balls
    Second was sneezing while asleep
Third was lifting box of pasta in dunnes while working and sneezing
Getting sick after a nut allergy attack.

Two come to mind, both while I was a kid:

    1) Being the curious type, went next door while it was under construction... fell down at some point on my knee. Was nothing initially til I tried to stand up... apparently one of them massive construction nails manage to drive right inbetween me joint of the knee - you can imagine how excrutiating it was when I tried to bend my knee while trying to get up...

    2) In the park, playing on them jump pipes... or w/e you call them - regardless, they had a pretty big concrete base. Some fat ass kid pushed me off, fell down and rammed my shin right into a corner of said base. Left one hell of a hole right through the bone, just gushing out blood...

Ruptured my achilles tendon and had my calf muscle pulled outta place and pushed around to the front of my shin in a few seconds. I was swimming in bondai beach and the undercurrent was going the opposite way and caused the damage, i felt the agony in my leg and thought a shark had gotten me :o

Worst pain I ever had was a really bad ear infection when I was 11, have never experienced pain like that before and I have broken bones etc.

Apparently the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear all had infections.

Doctor gave me some really powerful drugs, one tablet knocked me out for two days straight. My mothers a nurse and she couldn't believe that he was prescribing something so strong for an 11 year old. He told her that "if you had an ear infection like that you would want those too."

Getting a slap of a hurley just above my eye when I was about 7 was fooking painful!

Also the cramp I got in my 'No mans Land' (I posted a thread on it a couple of weeks ago) was pretty uncomfortable aswell as being totally unexpected!

The sensation in my abdomen after waking up from having a foot of intestine removed. I was pretty doped up on morphine but it was still the worst discomfort/pain I've ever felt. There's nothing worse than surgery on your insides.

Same. I got four needles into the toe knuckle, and even then the toe wasn't fully numb when the doc first, stuck the point of a scissors under my nail to see if it was numb and then, tore the nail off.

It. Was. Horrific. Gave me a phobia of needles that I am only lately overcoming after some other procedures.

Snapped my Humorous in two while walking home from a New Years party, worst pain was having my arm maneuvered so I could have it put into a cast to see if it would set. It didn't, so I I'm +1 metal plate +9 screws !

Another pretty painful experience was dropping a de-fat fryer all over myself when I was around 12. Second degree burns all over your leg is never a fun thing !

Strangulated testicle which required emergency surgery to untwist it. Hospital was 90 mins by ambulance away. Blood was flowing in but not out. Was puking from the pain.

I often see this written but for once i believe I am justified when i say..... /THREAD

Not sure which was more painful...

Boke my leg in a morotbike accident but didn't realise it in the shock. Tried to stand up and had my shin bone pop out the front of my leg, doh!

Broke my back in a parachute accident, every breath you take...hurts like hell

I'm pretty sure if you somehow managed to physically break your heart it'd be a lot worse than emotional hurt.

1 1/2" industrial staple through my hands. It actually went 90% in at a slant but luckily missed the bone. Took a bit of elbow grease from the nurse to get it pulled out, fine by me. :)

It's a toss up between dislocating my collar bone and shoulder or blowing up my hand with a firework.

I think the firework wins though. Stupid thing went off in my hand :(
    Haven't touched 'em since.
