Trying to lose weight in a health way

    Hi,
I have put on 10 kilos of excess weight in the last 2 years. I don't appear fat or pudgy at all but I'd like to slim down all the same. I'd also like to increase my muscle mass but that is not the priority. I'd appreciated any advice.

    Diet:

    - Breakfast:
    banana

    - Lunch:
    Veg soup
Brown bread + small bit of butter

    - Dinner:
Different each night but generally consists of meat(chicken/lamb) and some veg(potato/broccoli/cauliflower/beans/corn/).

I've stopped eating deserts and other snacks. I don't think there are any major problems with my diet but I'll take any advice.

    Exercise:
Cycling to and from work (~14k each way). I've only just started but I think I can keep it up.

Gym 3 times a week. I'm not sure what I should be doing in the gym
    - 10 mins treadmill jogging
    - 20 mins cycle uphill.
    - Weights machines for 10/15 mins

Any advice much appreciated, especially on what I should be doing in the gym.
    Thanks,
    Kev

    Thanks for replying.

At the moment that is pretty much all Mon to Fri I eat but I have only be doing it for a week or so. On the weekend I eat the same but I have some extras (Falafel, I might have a large meal in a restaurant for dinner, I usually drink beer on the weekend but not to excess.

    I'm 23 years old.
    80kg
    5 foot, 10 inches

I have a desk job. I sit in front of a computer for most of the day and this has caused me to gain weight.

And there are no liquids consumed all day? No tea/coffee with meals. No cans/bottles of minerals etc? How many beers would you have over a typical weekend?

I drink tea once a day on weekdays without milk or sugar. I also have lots of still water but I'm not sure how much.

When I go to a restaurant (max once a week, min once every two weeks) I will have a 3 course meal.

On the weekends I have about 5 pints.

Edit: I should have mentioned that this is my new diet. I'm pretty good at sticking to diets usually. I put on a lot of weight when I wasn't watching the my diet at all.
