Fat Wobblers, do they work?

Our gym has a new addition: a fat Wobbler :) It has attracted a lot of middling to rotund ladies who arrive, stand on it for about 15 minutes and then go away again.

All manner of positions are adopted, often, though mildly amusing, look utterly pointless.

i gave it a spin after my workout last night, seemed to burn legs & ass ok but is there any real point in these as a sole means of fat-reduction ? Guess there must be, just wondering..

Do you mean a power plate? Or one of those old fashion belted things?

as a weight loss tool? Don't wast your time.

I do find them great to massage out my quads, hamstrings, calves, add and abductors after a hard session or when i have DOMS.

I too know of the people who go to the gym for purely a quarter hour, use the vibro plate and leave and still question why they are no 'firmer' .

I am sorry man but just have a look at the people on those - many many of them are looking for an easy way out.

Fine for a bit of a massage on certain tight areas i have found, utter waste of time and money otherwise

I think if you're the kind of person who stands on a fat wobbler to lose weight, you can be pretty sure you're never going to be slim.

I had a conversation the other day about that... everyone except me believed sit ups is the way to lose your belly. They were looking at me like I was stupid.

Its amazing that people can still think like this but hey thats how all those ab machines are sold all the time - i blame late night shopping mixed with alcohol for their sales!

was there again last night. The queue for the machine was phenomenal, ladies getting irritated when the one oscillating was on too long....

The gym i was in used to run classes on the fabwobbler, i never went to one but seemingly they were very popular.

On the other hand, I saw the infomercial for Ab King Pro last night, hilarious. I mean the guy doing the exercise on it was ripped, his arms looksed great, he had the thighs of sparticus yet this machine was claiming he was in this shape cos of the Ab King Pro. I didnt realise how it worked all those other muscle groups as well!

I haven't read the thread just the title but I can categorically say YES they do work. One of them served me in Tesco the other day.

    Hope that clears everything up.

I lost about a stone over a month of three sessions a week, about 2 years ago. They do work, but you need to exercise on them. You can't expect to just stand on the thing and think that it's going to shake your fat off. I was trained to use it, I know the various positions for working different parts of your body and I get results from it. I've started using them again just in the past two weeks and I can already see my spare tyre shrinking and I can feel my leg muscles working.
