    Hi guys,

I'm a new student and I got my info pack from DCU there today. In the pack they gave me my log-on info that I'll apparently need to be able to register on Wednesday. I decided to give it a go today, see if everything is working okay, and I can't log in?

I'm just wondering if I should be worried or if it doesn't work until actual registration day.

    Answers appreicated :)

    Cheers.

As far as I understand it, you won't be able to use your portal page until after you register.

Try this link: https://www.dcu.ie/registration/ It worked for me earlier. You will need the username and password that they sent out to you.

I rang up and they said to put in €38 as that is the Student Centre Levy, the remaining €1500 is paid by the Grant authority

Is it possible to change modules after selecting them? I don't see an option to change.

Yeah I was told to leave it out as well. Got a "confirmation of registration" email so homefully thats it. Just need to bring the grant confirmation letter with me in a couple of weeks.

Yep, Dinner is right. I did the same last year and there were no problems.

A stupid question but I just want to be absolutely sure, there's only 1 registration fee and that's it, right? As in there' no fee for registration in 2nd/3rd year.

I'm in the middle of registering now and I have to say it's the most annoying yoke I've done in a long while - why can't there just be a pay here button

    I just skipped it...

Did anyone have problems with registration. My friend is been asked to fork over €4004 rather than the €1538...

Did they repeat the Leaving? Happened to me. It has something to do with them thinking you were already in third level.

I had to send a letter off saying I repeated.

BTW, are you meant to get an e-mail confirming registration even if you haven't paid. Doing it earlier and ran into the above problem so I stopped but still got that e-mail.

Logged into my email address today using the username and password provided in the info pack.

Somehow, they got my name wrong.. :/ I'm not sure if it'll affect anything, but I hate having it wrong if there's the off chance I'll have my name on some document.

Instead of "Matthew McKenna", I'm "Matthew McAkenna".

I was wondering if there's anyone I can get on to, to get it amended. (I'm a perfectionist, I know. :p )

    Cheers!

We both did the same PLC course, I got the right amount, she didn't. Better off just ringing them up.

I'm supposed to pay my fees to St Pat's by the 17th, but I haven't been informed by the local authority as to whether I have qualified for the HE grant. I contacted the authority today and they said that they are only going through June's applications and they can't tell me when I'll finally know if I've been approved or not.

So I guess I'm gonna have to fess up nearly €2000 regardless of if I've been approved for the grant or not? :/
