Starting a masters in DCU and just wondering if anyone knows when the first installments normally are available in DCU? I know it differs for each council/VEC but I'm particularly wondering for Kerry CoCo if anyone knows. Thanks.

I don't know too much as I'm not eligible for any grants... but I didn't think the college you were attending made a difference with regard to installment dates? Would have thought it was only dependent on the council itself, not the institution.

The way I see it is that they do applications college by college and since they have so many it would not be possible for them all to be sent out the same time?

I'm hoping it's early as I'm broke after deposit/first months rent payments I'll have to pay soon.

I think its somewhere in mid October... If your grant is already processed it shouldn't be any later than that. If it's still processing you could be waiting awhile though!!!

Thanks! I got processed in a day back in July so hopefully the sooner the better. Just applied for the grant advance from BOI incase though!

From what I found out last year it entirely depends on when the government release funds to the individual councils. While there are suppose to be no delays this year I spoke to Sligo county council and they said that they're still expecting delays. From what I can remember Sligo council didn't receive the funding required to release the 1st instalment till November last year but again it all depends on where your from. Some council grants were available much earlier.

Kerry county Co. in my experience were really good to get cheques out but they can't do anything until the money is released. Is there a catch to the BOI advance?
