new student starting! info on fees?

    hey im startin the end of the month and jus have to pay the €1538 reg fee.. online it says u have to pay 500 to secure a place and have 60% of the fee paid on registration den u pay the rest in january but on the info pack that was sent out the other day it says a receipt of fees paid must be shown when collecting student id card? any info would be great thanks :confused:

    Yeah, Irish non-fee-paying students, which is you even though you still pay 1538, have to pay in full before starting and full free students get the extended time period.

    Full free, is any irish student... €1538 covers registration fees and the money towards the gym and societies etc...
    The "free" refers to tuition fees, which are covered by the government for your first time through college. [if you drop out of a course after 1 year, then start another you will have to pay tuition fees for your first year in the new course, after which they'll be covered by the government]

    No, you are not paying for the gym or societies with this fee. They cost extra, and are paid for separately.

    Sorry, i wasn't really clear. Yes it costs €4 to join a society for the year and however muh to join the gym, however the €1538 is split into €1500 registration fee and a €38 fee for the student centre [this helps pay the sabbaticals for their years work as well as going towards the upkeep of the hub and gym building]
