Armenia look an interesting price here. Not to beat us but to get a draw from this game. Ireland will be without Duff, Andrews and McShane (bonus!). Duff is a big loss and Keane has not played much so far this season. That said, Armenia +1 goal is a dissapointing 2.1 with most of the main bookies.

I dont know... I think it boosts our chances even more with McShanes' absence:pac:

    Montenegro @ 10/11
    France @ 2/7
    Sweden @ 2/5 or Sweden (-1.0) @ 13/10

Will certainly have something on that in a treble or double.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 322 ✭✭noelpat

    Slovenia
    Montenegro
    France

just over 3/1 for the treble on PP
    thats my bet

I agree with you Mezcita, I think Ireland will have a very tough game against Armenia on Friday. Despite what people may think, Armenia are no push-overs, especially at home. Here are their four most recent home results:

    Armenia 2 - 1 Belgium.
    Armenia 1 - 2 Spain.
    Armenia 3 - 1 Uzbekistan.
    Armenia 1 - 3 Iran.

As you can see, they do pretty well at home. I wouldn't read much into the games against Uzbekistan and Iran, as they were pointless friendlies. However, losing 2-1 against the best team in international football is a very respectable result. Also, beating Belgium is no mean feat, despite them being a shadow of what they used to be.

I wouldn't recommend backing Armenia though, as I think that Ireland will edge this tie. Under 2.5 Goals could be worth a shot, or else Ireland to win by a single goal. I wouldn't be taking Ireland on any handicaps, as we all know Ireland aren't a side to destroy teams. Robbie Keane to score anytime @2.00 may also be a good bet.

That's just my two cents, take whatever you want from it. I'll be avoiding this match, but good luck to all who aren't.

Germany were 8-13 away to Belgium with PP. If they carry any of the form from the WC they should win that one.

    Germany
    Serbia

    Montenegro
    Germany
    Serbia

these are the 3 i am looking at i think the 3 of them should all win

Unders double in the Irish and Welsh games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,251 ✭✭✭The Walsho

While France should win, especially with new management and hopefully a new regime, I just couldn't bring myself to back them at that price. Always such letdowns, and at 2/7 I wouldn't bother.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 322 ✭✭noelpat

I think Serbia will win easy but at 1/12 on PP the price is useless to me!

    heres my €1 accumulator

    Montenegro
    Sweden
    Germany
    Slovenia
    France
    Italy
    Slovakia
Under 2.5 goals in Armenia v Ireland
    Dundalk
    St Pats
    UCD
Both teams to score in England v Bulgaria
    Oxford Utd
    Kilkenny (hurling)

    potential winnings- €1,007

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I went with a similar enough one...

    Armenia v Ireland ................. WIN
    Kazakhstan v Turkey
    Montenegro v Wales
    Latvia v Croatia
    Lithuania v Scotland
    Estonia v Italy
    Belgium v Germany
    Slovenia v N Ireland
    England v Bulgaria
    France v Belarus

Teams in red to win. €10 acc will net me about €1,060 or so... it's obv highly unlikely getting all 10 but I would expect at least seven of these teams to win without too much trouble, so its worth a gamble I reckon

Scotland, Montenegro and Slovenia are my biggest worries tbh

Alot of money gonna ba made on the accumulators this weekend, here's how i'm gonna make mine:

    multiop.jpg

which involves a draw in the hurling, Under 2.5 in the Ireland game and a top 10 from Bubba!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,787 ✭✭✭Jayob10

alot of permeatations there but you are a man after my own heart, gotta love the big accumulators. one day ill get lucky :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,984 ✭✭✭Polar101

    Moldova - Finland

Going with under 1.5 @ ~3, and 0-0 in correct score @9.8. Limited goalscoring ability and a terrible pitch in this one. :)

    prices from betfair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,734 ✭✭✭Fowler87

Doyle 1st scorer 1-1 draw scorecast @ 35/1 looks a fairly decent bet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 528 ✭✭✭Sir Vival

Gonna put a few euro on Armenia and Draw @11/10. Hope it loses tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,288 ✭✭✭fkiely

Main bet: France -1 at 11/10

Medium double: Sweden and England both -1 at 4/1

Accie: Ireland, Germany, Slovakia, Holland -4, Spain -3, Sweden -1, England -1, France -1, Greece and Portugal -1 at 280/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

Haven't decided what i'll go for yet but i've just had a run down through the fixture list and these stand out to me.

Kazakhstan vs Turkey (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.10
    Andorra vs Russia (Andorra +3) @ 2.60
France vs Belarus (-1 handicap draw) @ 3.25
Belguim vs Germany (Germany to win, Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.57, 1.66 respectively
Latvia vs Croatia (Under 3.5 goals) @ 1.72
England vs Bulgaria (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.10
Portugal vs Cyprus (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.10
Armenia vs Ireland (Draw at HT, Ireland win at FT) @ 4.33
Sweden vs Hungary (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.83
Slovenia vs N Ireland (Slovenia to win & Ljubijankič to score) @ 3.75
Faroe Islands vs Serbia (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.25

Obviously i won't take them all but i reckon i may go for 3 or 4 of them as singles. I never really bet on the unders as it's a market that i rarely win on. But having seen the WC and how cautious teams were in the first game of the group stage i expect a lot of similar type match ups tomorrow. And the term 'park the bus' seems to have become quite popular with smaller teams taking note of how they may salvage a point or keep the score respectable by throwing people behind the ball. Of course this technique has been around for years but it's as if the secret came outta the bag during the WC.

I also think a lot of the better away teams are expected to score more goals and win by bigger margins than what will be on the scoreboard come full time. For example the Russia, Serbia and France games. They are playing very defensive minded teams albeit a lot poorer than the away teams but there is nothing more frustrating than having an entire team in front of you at all times. It was the exact same thing in the Israel and Malta game tonight. Only for the peno i think that game may have finished 1-1. A lot of risky enough calls as the complete opposite of a lot of the above could happen. But i have a feeling if i bet on all of them i may just make a little bit of profit or break evens.

Also some interesting doubles or trebles floating around for anyone who wanted to go high stakes. Germany to win, Spain over 2.5 goals and Holland 4 or more gives 2.50. Just something i'm looking at.

    gonna do 2 bets

    €5 accum ireland 4/6
    wales 3/1
    n.irl to draw 13/5
    bulgaria 9/1

    €10 win bulgaria 9/1

to me bulgaria are the value bet of the weekend, eng missing a few key players and seem to be unrest with the manager
probably being optimistic but upsets do happen:D

It could be well worth laying England at decent odds. But England are quite strong at Wembly which kind of puts me off. I'd wait till in play before i'd consider betting on the 1x2 market. If England don't get an early goal the fans will quickly get on their back. They managed to turn it around against Hungary but that was a friendly and different circumstances. Bulgaria don't offer too much up front since Berbatov retired. They have some good individual players but like England they don't really gel at national level. I expect Bulgaria will be out simply to not lose and will be delighted going away with a point. Kind of why i see a low scoring game.

Some nice big double and treble potential on that list

    Serbia
    Croatia
    Turkey
    Germany
Spain + 2.5 (or Villa anytime)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,251 ✭✭✭The Walsho

Slovenia and Sweden double is the main bet from me. Might do a few accums for the fun.

    Edit:
    €30 on Slovenia/Sweden double.
€3 accum: England, Germany, Montenegro, Romania, Turkey, Ireland.
€10 Robbie Keane first goal (insurebet).
€10 France/St. Pats double. (going against my warning against France earlier!)

Unsure about Ireland tomorrow but feck it.

I know they are the whipping boys of world football but IMO their mite be some value in San Marino +4 @ 7/5 at home against the Dutch... with it being 1st game and all. But saying that they are a reserve pub team:pac: Ridiculous odds though...

That does seem a ridiculous price.

Then again you could argue that in qualification for the World Cup, they played 10 games, scored once and let in 47 goals and there wasn't any team comparable to this Dutch team, ability wise.

I've gone for draws in the Bel/Ger, Fra/Bel and Mon/Wal games.

Bit mad but it pays 47/1.

    Belgium v Germany (4/7)
    Montenegro v Wales (10/11)
    Kazakhstan v Turkey (3/10)

And a small flutter on Faroe Islands scraping a draw @ 7/1

Just layed the Irish myself @ 1.73. They're a decent side and I'm sure conditions over there aren't ideal, combined with the lack of experience / injuries in the side

I can only see a 1-1 draw in the Ireland match tonight.
40 degrees over there, says a mate.

These are the extremely important games that we need to win. We'll look back these if we don't qualify just like we did when we drew with Montenegro, saying what could've been.

As for Montenegro themselves, I can only see them destroying Wales.
    -1 @ 5/2 looks very tempting indeed.

Who knows though, Wales might scrape a draw.
    Stevan Jovetić is out like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

More like 30 degrees but that's still a hot temperature for a bunch of Irish lads to play in. At least humidty won't be high as it's landlocked. 1-1 or a 0-1 scoreline looks a likely outcome. I fancy both to score or Ireland to win by a goal. Not sure i'll bet on it though.

I was just going by the electronic thermometer they showed on Euronews about an hour ago. Showed 31c. Suppose it could jump up. Anyways lets all agree it's hot as fook and will be difficult conditions for Ireland.

One big accum(12). One slightly smaller accum(8). Both small sums.

One double which I'm undecided over. 4 teams I'm trying to pick 2 from are Slovenia, Switzerland, Montenegro and Sweden. Slovenia is my definite I have to add.

Done a treble of Slovenia, Slovakia and Germany at roughly 3-1 PP.

Might do a small bet on Keane 1-0 - cant find any price online bar VC which has it @ 20-1 which is fine.

Looking at the same thing myself but a bit weary of Slovakia. They are missing 4 players and Macedonia seem to have better form away than at home.

Kazakhstan vs Turkey (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.10
    Andorra vs Russia (Andorra +3) @ 2.60
France vs Belarus (-1 handicap draw) @ 3.25
Latvia vs Croatia (Under 3.5 goals) @ 1.72
England vs Bulgaria (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.10
Portugal vs Cyprus (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.10
Armenia vs Ireland (Draw at HT, Ireland win at FT) @ 4.33
Sweden vs Hungary (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.83
Slovenia vs N Ireland (Slovenia to win & Ljubijankič to score) @ 3.75
Faroe Islands vs Serbia (Under 2.5 goals) @ 2.25

I ended up sticking 5 on each of the above bets. Just for a bit of interest across the board.

I'm not so sure. Belgium could be sly dogs in this group. They have some decent young players coming through. Very tight price considering the Belgians will be at home.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

The Belgians are very good individually(Fellani, Hazard, Defour, Kompany to name but a few) but as a team they've rarely clicked.
They remind me of the Dutch(or even the Spanish) in the 90s and early 00's with their in house squabbling getting in the away of their football.

Both teams to score might be a good bet. Other than that.. Germany win or draw.
