    Hi all,

Just wondering, does anyone have any information regards rock fitness in dundrum about its location? Is it near the shopping centre? Or how busy is it?
I was in the UCD gym last year but I founds it awful and I am looking for a quieter gym.

    thanks,

    Ok I'll bite.

About 15 years ago, I was a member of Dundrum Gym. This was the name of the gym before the property was sold to the owners of Dundrum Shopping Centre, who seem to have bought all of Dundrum at this stage.

My sister went there for a free trial the other day and says that it's exactly the same as it was when it closed. I get the feeling the gym is less a public gym and more a gym for the tenants of the properties owned by the gym owners. I might be wrong about this though.

Anyway, I wouldn't say its as good as Crunch Fitness UCD or Body Health & Fitness (http://www.bhaf.ie/), which is very quiet and very cheap.

    Hope that helps,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply. A quiet gym with a reasonable price is what I am after. I am not really familar with the dundrum area,so I am not really sure where sandyford is in regards dundrum. Is it far from the shopping centre?

There is a very quiet public gym in the dlr Leisure Services place on Broadford Road.
County council place, usually quiet, but not the best equipped.
You can pay as you go so might be worth trying out.

I've been to have a look at this place, seems to be very decent to me. I was there lunch time on a weekday and the place was empty. They have everything anyone would need from basic cardio to decent weight lifting. Of course it doesn't look as nice as the show off gyms but if your there for the right reasons that shouldn't matter to you.

I'm thinking about joining it but a bit concerned about its opening hours, I need to be in the office for 8am and it only opens at 7am, wondering if anyone knows if its doors are actually open at 7am???

Anyone know of any other gyms in or around dundrum that may open earlier and you can pay monthly, not get caught into a ridiculous contract?
