Bragging Rights Pre Show Thread

Found this posted on the YouPosted WWE Forum but still not clear if it is a real or fake poster foe WWE PPV Bragging Rights.

Gotta say though, it is a pretty cool poster all the same. Love the Nexus "N" in the logo. I think this would have also made a very cool cover for Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011.

    anyway, here it is:

would be surprised if that is the real poster, if only because it seems to place Taker and Kane on team SD. I would imagine they will still be going 1vs1 for that.

These posters are always done well in advance anyway. Interested to see how NXT is going to fit into it though.

It's showing up on a lot of wrestling sites so it appears to be the actual poster too.

May as well have this be the pre show thread.

Just had a thought......Cena is facing Undertaker in the poster. Could this be the start of a feud leading up to Cena V. Taker at Wrestlemania 27??

The posters rarely, if ever, relate to the actual matches on the cards!

I cant really see how it could be fake. I mean where would a random person just happen to find pictures of all these superstars looking and posing the way they are??

Man thats the match I really want to see happen at Wrestlemania 27.

However whether it happens or not, I doubt very much that the Bragging Rights poster is hinting at such a match.

Tis on Sky Sports 1. Think Daniel Bryan might get the US Title before the PPV.

DBD will probably face The Miz at Night Of Champions, so he could very well be the US Champion by then.

Didn't the name Bragging Rights for the PPV come about as their was a feud between Smackdown and Raw (hence the Bragging part in SD style text, and Rights in RAW style text)???

So does that mean the same for this year?? Possibly with some sort of feud starting tonight as Smackdown Superstars will be on RAW for the 900th episdoe. Cena to get tombstoned would be awesome.

Nope. Cyber Sunday was getting awful buyrates so WWE originally renamed it to Annihilation which then became Bragging Rights (to add to the gimmick themes). After Hell in a Cell, there wasn't any real Raw vs. SD rivalry so they had to build the brand feud within 4 weeks.

I doubt they'll go the Raw vs. SD route tonight (well, apart from the Diva's). We still have Night of Champions and Hell in a Cell to go before Bragging Rights.

The fact the N is regular on the offical one isn't the greatest of signs for Nexus.

    I agree totally

yep the new one sucks balls

i'd love the nexus to come down and destroy both teams and beat the sh|t out of cena with the bragging rights trophy and put him out injured for a while - give some of the under carders a chance to take the spotlight in this fight against nexus!

jesus this angle needs a serious injection of adrenaline - i've never seen an angle impact so fast and fall off so quickly - that summerslam loss really hurt any momentum they had - they came off so weak.

plus without any rivalry betwen raw and smackdown this ppv is pointless!

Old poster looks great, aside from Miz (Who looks very dopey) and Evan Bourne, who appears to be getting out a particularly difficult poo.

    The new one just fails.

    if only.

Taker will need to get into far better shape for that match not to be a complete let down from a purist's standpoint.

this match must happen for the streak before 'Taker retires. it just has to. it's the most blatantly obvious, big-draw, 'don't have to even really think about it' angle WWE could do.

they don't even have to be particularly creative for it to be epic. just have Cena continue to be his cheesy All-American self (getting all the kids on his side, but all the 'purists' on Taker's), and have Taker just continue to do the sh*te he's been doing in the build up to WM. *

*by the way, i would like them to do something with more thought, i really would, but my point is WWE wouldn't need to for it to still work.

The Undertaker vs Kane in a buried alive match for the World Heavyweight Championship

    Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown

WZ has received the following emails from the Minnesota area:
Thanks to Joshua Ulrick for sending this in:
Tonight during Raw, WWE advertised The Undertaker vs Kane in a buried alive match for the title at Bragging Rights. I assume it was only shown here in the twin cities.
Thanks to Richard for sending this in:
In MN during the telecast of RAW, WWE advertised a BURIED ALIVE match between Kane and Undertaker for the main event at Bragging Rights.

Does anyone actually think that WWE will turn Cena heel? That this angle won't just parallel the "JBL owns HBK" angle from last year?? The standard formula is 'reluctant face takes orders until he eventually rebels, gets fired, keeps interfering and wins one last match to get his freedom'. That said, if it's done well i'll be fine with it -- this week's RAW was done very well; they really made it look very important, with a great ending to the Battle Royal.

I'm putting my chips down now, sometime soon we'll see Orton (c) vs Barrett with Cena as the guest referee. I'd imagine that's at the Survivor Series and also when Cena rebels against Barrett and gets kayfabe fired.

IMO If Cena ever actually turns heel, it'll be of his own accord, and not because of Nexus or some crap reason.

So what you think will happening at Bragging rights with cena in his corner?

At the PPV itself, how about Cena intentionally gets himself barred from ringside; so next month Barrett puts him in the ref's shirt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,364 ✭✭✭paddyismaddy

i cant see wwe making cena a heel he is a cash cow for them and their top star

i think barrett will lose at this ppv (its way too soon for him to have a world title) maybe cena costs him the match then barrett and nexus beat up cena and put him out for a while or fire him until the gm once revealed hires back cena and he takes out nexus and that is their end or it will be team cena v team nexus at survivor series

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,169 ✭✭✭jmolloy

don't know if it is too soon. Barrett's character has been well defined and after the way they pushed Seamus last year I am hesistant to write off barretts chances.

Yeah this is similar to what I see happening. I think Cena 'accidentally' costs Barrett the match and then will make out he didn't mean to, and the angle will continue.

I don't see a Cena heel turn unless there is a babyface strong enough to take over. For me, Orton as a babyface doesn't work because his character is more suited to a heel and he isn't entertaining enough on the mic. However if the angle helps get Orton over then maybe they will have faith in Orton to succeed Cena as top dog. I would be sceptical though.

The Wade and Orton match as others have said will be very similar to the JBL and HBK match from a few years ago. Their will be a ref bump, Wade will order Cena to help who does so reluctantly. Cena hits the AA on Orton but then hits it on a smirking Wade, and then leaves. Orton then hits 234 rko's on Wade and wins,. Next night we get some sort of freedom match for Survivor Series.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,904 ✭✭✭Pentecost

I don't know, considering the impact Cena 'joining' Nexus had on his fans it'd be a waste to finish the angle within two PPVs, they could drag it out till the Royal Rumble or later with a bit of thought put into it.

Yes I cant see Orton taking over as the top babyface from Cena as you said Orton is better as a heel and looking at the current Raw roster they really is no one maybe Rey but he is on SD

    Current card atm:

-- For the Bragging Rights Trophey - Team Raw: Miz (c), Morrison, R-Truth, Santino, Sheamus, CM Punk and ??? VS. Team SmackDown: Big Show (c),
Tyler Reks, Edge, Alberto Del Rio, Kofi, Rey and Swagger
    (w/Hornswoggle as SD's mascot)

-- WWE Title - Orton vs Barrett (w/Cena)
-- Unified Diva's Championship - LayCool (Layla or McCool) vs. Natalya

    http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/article/final-team-raw-member-update-night-of-champions-dvd-info-114357
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the final spot on Team Raw for the Bragging Rights PPV was supposed to go to Mark Henry, however that did not take place on Raw this week as Henry was out due to a personal issue with his brother Patrick. At this point, the slot might still go to Henry, but we've received no word as to when Henry is expected back on Raw.

Since tag champs Drew and Cody aren't in SD's team I hope they will have a tag match maybe against two from Nexus or Dudebusters and I take it maybe Ted Jnr V Golddust for his million dollar title might also be added

Probably but it fits in with the Raw v Smackdown theme of the PPV. It won't do either of them any harm really.

    It won't be a unification/title match.

Just a champ v champ match.
Any unifications done more than likely will be at mania.
