    Hey Guys,

I have 4 weeks to go until i am a bridesmaid for my sisters wedding. I tried on my dress last night and it won't close :o the stomach / waste isn't the issue, it's more upper body fat, my own fault entirely because i haven't been watching what i ate or doing any exercise all summer.

Can anyone help with advice on how best to shift this over the next 4 weeks???

For my wedding last year, one of the bridesmaids got her dress made too small as inspiration to drop some weight. She didn't. I had to pay to get the dress altered, it still didn't fit her properly. During the meal she looked at a photo that someone had just taken of her, she reckoned she looked like a heffer spilling out over her dress. So she ran off to the toilets crying.

Anyway, you probably won't loose anything in 4 weeks so just get the dress to fit you and you'll be happy.

Cut your daily calorie intake by 500, lift heavy weights doing compound exercises and do some HIIT cardio.

You haven't given any stats so this advice is general.
I presume that this dress did fit you originally, so hopefully you're only looking at a few pounds to fit it again. The bad news is that you can't reduce fat in one place: you have to diet and exercise, the weight will come off wherever it feels like it! In 4 weeks, you can comfortably lose 8lbs (2 a week) by cleaning up your diet, drinking lots of water and increasing your exercise levels. You should be fairly motivated to fit into the dress so read the stickies on diet management. There's many different attitudes on what sort of diet to follow: I do Weight Watchers, it works for me; other people prefer low-carb. My advice is to go with whatever you think you can stick to for the 4 weeks and try to exercise at least 4 times a week, preferably with weights and cardio.

    Hey all,

Cheers millions for all the advice, i've been working hard, we've also bought a size 14 dress for the day, so we'll just have to wait and see which fits better on the day :o
