Back injury with upper arm pain

    Hey,

Looking for advice about an injury.

Last year a seriously hurt my back playing football. I'm a goalkeeper, and after stretching for a ball Iinjured my back.

The symptoms at the time were, shootin pain in back and shoulder when I bent my neck forward. Muscle spasms on my left breast and shooting sharp pain down the back of my arm.

The doc gave my Difene/tylex and sent me on my way with a muscle damage diagnoses.

A year later, i'm getting a few twinges now and again. All of them involve the upper back pain and shooting arm pain. I'm wondering if there is a serious problem.

I'm in a lot of pain tonight and i'm reading (maybe foolishly) stories on the internet about cardio injury, nerve damage, spinal damage etc with the exact symptoms. One thing is for sure that a year on it can't be simple muscle damage.

Looking for some advice on what to do? Doctor again, massage, cardiologist/MRI scan  ???

    Thanks.

Go to a physiotherapist. One who deals with sports injuries regularly. A doctor is only interested in treating you so that you can get to the stage where you can perform day to day activities without too much trouble. A sports physio will work with you to try and get you back on the pitch again.

    Hi Fishfreak

Sorry but I have no option but to close this thread. It is against the posting rules of both the Forum and of Boards.ie in general to seek or give what could be considered medical advice on the forums.

For any injury I pick up due to sporting activities, my first port of call is always my physio. He is based in Dun Laoghaire and if you wish you can PM me and I can give you his contact details.

Sorry we can be of more assistance & best wishes for a speedy recovery.

    Best Regards,

    M
