Hi all,

I'll be running a 2on2 cup on Monday the 13th of September at 7pm.

There'll be space for 16 teams.

Organisation
To register for this cup, just post a reply to this thread with the following details:

Friend code of each player: (I.e. Bogger.123 and Bogger2.435)
2on2 League placement (diamond/platinum/gold/silver/bronze/unranked)

If a team has no league placement, give 1on1 league placement of the 2 players.

teams are encouraged to sign up even if the cup is full, because people always forget to show up etc.

IRC
On the night, the cup will be organised on IRC, at #starcraft.ie @quakenet. If you don't have IRC, just click this link for a browser based version:

System
This cup will be played as a single elimination cup.
That means that if you lose a game, you're knocked out.
I'm not doing the full ranking system this time purely because I want to play this time!

Miscellaneous details
Spectating is allowed only if both players agree to it.
All games are best of 1, except for the final round, which is best of 3.
The 1st map in each round is chosen by the Tournament Director (me), in the final, the 2nd and 3rd maps are chosen by the loser of the previous map.
Replays should be posted as an attachment in a Replays topic I'll make on the day.

There may be a caster, who knows?

I really hope there will be some better players entering this then the people that were in the 1v1 at the beginning of the month. Granted, funky well deserved to win, but it seemed like most of the people playing had no idea how to play the game.

It's unlikely the quality will be higher.

That said, why does low quality players annoy you? It's much more frustrating when people don't take part because they don't think they're good enough?

Frankly, giving out to people for taking part in a cup is a very bad attitude, seeing as they contribute to numbers (and thus, to potential sponsorship size), at the expense of having to noob bash someone in the 1st round.

That's the type of attitude that will end these cups altogether.

I think you guys took what i said the wrong way. I wasn't calling them **** players, just that the replays were exceptionally boring to watch. I know there are quite a lot of decent irish players out there i just hope they join this 2v2 cup so there is some type of competition at the end. Instead of a complete walk over like in the 1v1.

That sounds like a lot more work than just posting the topic here :P (Blizzard require you to register cups, ffs, that's far too much work)

anyway, if people don't have a partner, but would like a partner, I'll take partnerless players and team them up 2 days before the cup

when you log into battle.net, hover your mouse over your portrait on the top right, and it displays your battle.net id number.
