Anyone know if the student fees dept. is open on a Sat?

Also anyone have the opening times for it in general?

I'm having difficulty spotting it on the TCD site.

    Owlwink :-)

Weekdays only, 10.00 to 12.30 and 14.00 to 16.00. The same hours apply for most College admin offices.

If you'd prefer (and are local) they're located in College Green/Dame Street next to the starbucks. They're a little busy but it's easier to sort stuff out in person I find.

    Cheers guys.

Have to pop in early on Mon to show them my grant confirmation letter so I can sort out the rest of my fees.

Anyone got a google maps location for the office cuz I'm cutting it tight enough as it is to make them before lunch and I have work in the afternoon :-( ???

    Cheers.

Ok I can't get google maps to work for some reason, but the Fees Office is located on College Green, beside the Starbucks, which is beside the big taxi rank in Foster Place, which is where the Wax Museum is located, which is beside the big Bank of Ireland opposite the front gates of college.

There's a big black wheelchair door, you really cant miss it, its right beside the bus stop for the 16 and 19 and all those. You have to get a card from the security as you go in the door, and then you go to the 1st floor, go through the double grey doors, use your card to get through the door (its a swipe type thing, so you can't get in without one) and then I think it's 3rd floor in the lift.

Make sure you stop and get a card from security, they won't talk to you in fees unless you have one. Seriously.

Went to that location today and found it handy enough, although on the sign at the front of the black door there was no mention of the student fees department. Has it moved or is it there?

A friend of mine said that he thinks it is in the front gate just off Dame Street. How can I find out because I'm going to be rushing tomorrow?

Any help at all would be appreciated. :-)

No worries actually. Just found this on their site. Looks like it is inside that random black doorway.

    Location

The Treasurer's Office is located at 3 College Green, Dublin 2.

    Directions from College

Leaving the Front Gate of College walk in the direction of Dame Street. Passing Foster Place on your right, the next block begins with Starbucks. Take the next doorway - this is the reception area for 3 College Green.

    Daily Public Opening Hours

    Monday to Friday 10:00 to 12:30, 14:00 to 16:00

Anyone know what the deadline is for registration fees?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,488 ✭✭✭mathew

    Today or tomorrow I think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

It's kind of a loose deadline though.. Once you have it in a week or so before you actually register, they don't mind. Well, that's what they said to me last time. Might be an idea to give them a call tomorrow.

I still havn't got one, did it online today but it's still processing so don't think it went through.. I'd no idea it had to be sent in by tomorrow.

Neither did I. There's no date on the giro I got either that I could see (but I could be blind). Are the rest of you psychic or something??

Seriously tomorrow? I haven't got the giro yet either and i thought we had ages to pay it!

Oh dear, I haven't done anything fees wise yet! I assumed I'd at least get an acceptance letter or giro in the post first...l but nothing

    Next step??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 184 ✭✭Saviola

You can pay on epay.tcd.ie apparently but i haven't done it myself yet and im not sure how long it takes the payment to go through.

Okey doke, thanks, :) I might just leave it until I hear from them, because how else do they expect me to know? You know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 184 ✭✭Saviola

Yeah it cant be that urgent considering they haven't even sent the giro yet......thats what im hoping anyway! :)

Yeah it says on the e-pay site that they're to be paid by today but that's the only place I've seen a deadline. Was kinda freaking out there but nearly everyone's in the same boat regarding fees so it should be fine.

Do you guys read the letter they send with them??? It says on it, 5 days ebfore you register. so the week before freshers week at the latest...

I need to know if I am getting the grant before I fill in that GF1 form. Something tells me this is going to be a source of unnecessary stress over the coming weeks...

No letter came with mine. :)

I got nada with mine as I had to send them in a form confirming I was eligible for the free fees scheme this year, so my letter didn't go out with the regular mailshot - a nice woman in the fees dept. sent me my giro out instead. Again, 5 (working!) days before registration is grand, and just make sure you bring the stamped giro with you. I paid mine the week before last year, and there was no problem whatsoever. Also, I can't stress how helpful the fees department are, so if you've any queries at all, give them a buzz!

As regards the grant, I was told if I think I'm eligible to just pay the 85, and that I would be required to present a letter from the awarding body (the county council or whatever) at registration confirming I was eligible for the grant. You should hopefully have that letter by then - keep pestering the grant dept!

    Oh, and from here:
Local authority grant-holders will have the student charge of €1,500 paid on their behalf by the local authority on completion of form GF1. All grant-holders must certify that the fees will be paid by a recognised grant authority. If for any reason the
relevant authority does not pay the annual tuition fees or the student charge in the case of local authority grant-holders the student will become liable for the fees due.

    Oh, and from here:
Thats what I done, just payed the 85 euro on epay.tcd.
I scanned the letter of approval I got from the city council about the registration fee grant, and emailed it to the fees office ,and everything is lovely jubbly.

On the topic of the 85 euro, that 8 ero USI levy is voluntary, you don;t have to pay that... they don't advertise that though, The 77 is though... the sports centre charge.. And sorry, I got a letter with mine this year and last, and It is on the website somewhere...

Do you think you'd be able to register if you get no letter of confirmation from county council by the registering date?

I can't tell you this for certain with regards Trinity, but I know when I was in RCSI and fairly sure of getting the grant, they essentially part-registered me. I got my student card and everything else, I just wasn't entirely "officially" registered until the grant came through and they got paid. I'd give the Student Fees Office a call, and they'd be able to let you know for certain. Most places are fairly good about it once you're sure you're eligible for a grant, but it's best to call them and see. :)

Thanks a mil. I'm pretty confident about the grant. I dropped into Student Fees Office a few days ago to return the forms and they said everything should be ok, but I just wanted to know if anyone else registered before receiving the letter from the awarding body. Thanks for the help :)
