12/20/2011 - RAF MILDENHALL, England – An air-to-air refueling mission took a special Christmas turn as one Royal Danish Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon ‘sleigh’ pilot arrived to receive fuel with a Santa Claus hat taped to his helmet. RAF Mildenhall’s 351st Air Refueling Squadron KC-135 Stratotankers are responsible for refueling American and allied aircraft, enabling NATO missions across Europe and Africa. Transient aircraft supporting ongoing operations in Afghanistan and other deployed areas also frequently rendezvous with Mildenhall tankers to receive fuel, which extends their global reach and enables the Air Force mission to fly, fight and win.
