What I mean by 10/10 albums, is albums that you love, but practically don't have any filler, or are either flawless from start to finish. I'm talking about albums that you can listen to, but without having to press the skip button at all. These are my picks:

Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse/Anthems To The Welkin at Dusk
    Rush - Hemispheres
Dimmu Borgir - Enthrone Darkness Triumphant
Nokturnal Mortum - The Voice of Steel
Fields of The Nephilim - The Nephilim
    Agalloch - The Mantle
Darkthrone - A Blaze in The Northern Sky
Type O Negative - October Rust
    In The Woods... - Omnio
    Anathema - Eternity
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
    Paradise Lost - Draconian Times
    Amorphis - Elegy/Tuonela/Silent Waters
    U2 - Boy
Old Man's Child - Born of The Flickering
    Tiamat - Wildhoney
    Opeth - Blackwater Park
Dissection - Storm of The Light's Bane

Not many that i would listen to all the way through. Off the top of my head:

    GN'R - Appetite for Destruction
    Metallica - Master of Puppets
    Slayer - Reign in Blood
    Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Faith No More - Angel Dust
    AC/DC - Back in Black

They are great albums. I forgot completely about 'Appetite for Destruction', it's incredible album, and one of the albums that got me into both heavy rock and metal in the first place way back in 1991.

    Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Machine Head - Burn My Eyes
    Chimaira - Impossibility of Reason
    Stapping Young Lad - City
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
The Haunted - One Kill Wonder
    Impaled - Mondo Medicale
Necrophagia - The Divine Art of Torture
Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill
    Ministry - Psalms 69

Prolly loads more but the above immediately spring to mind as being flawless IMO.

Just looking at my CD collection beside me and these are what jump out:

    Anthrax - Among The Living
    Black Sabbath - Paranoid
    Death - Symbolic
Gojira - From Mars To Sirius
    Pink Floyd - The Wall*
    Sepultura - Chaos AD
Sick Of It All - Scratch The Surface
System Of A Down - Toxicity

*The Wall might be seen as a controversial choice as half the album is made up of weird fillers. However, I would never skip past any of it as I think its such an awesome album from start to finish. I would have put down DSOTM except that On The Run pisses me off.

As much as I love Maiden I couldn't decide on any album as the majority of them are 50% awesome, 50% crap. Killers and TNOTB came close but Prodigal Son and Gangland prevented this.

I never thought I'd see anyone else who also really loves 'Silent Waters' as much as myself. It really is a brilliant album, and I much prefer it to 'Eclipse'.

Pardon!? It's one of the best albums I've ever heard. I fully admit that Trivium before and since have been fairly shocking, but every song on that album is incredibly well written, performed and varied.

Very few albums meet that criteria with me, tbh... But some slipped through and became solid faves of mine that I could listen to over and over again, every track being a classic to me:

    Whitesnake - 1987/Whitesnake
Whitesnake - Slip Of The Tongue
    Def Leppard - Hysteria
    Def Leppard - Pyromania
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
    The Cult - Sonic Temple
    Bon Jovi - 7800 Fahrenheit
Ratt - Out Of The Cellar
    Van Halen - Van Halen
    Van Halen - 1984
    Vandenberg - Vandenberg
    Europe - Final Countdown
Europe - Out Of This World

off the top of my head anyway.

I never thought I'd see anyone else who also really loves 'Silent Waters' as much as myself. It really is a brilliant album, and I much prefer it to 'Eclipse'.

Silent Waters is definately a 10/10 album. I would love to go and see them in Nov in the UK. Will have to see what the funds are like by then:)

Cos I prefer Dio over Ozzy and of the Dio Sabbath albums , Mob Rules is my favourite ... E5150 straight into Mob rules is just awesomeness
While I am not disagreeing with you as its each to their own- just wondering - how could anyone prefer the dio albums to the ozzy ones?

Different folks ... different strokes ...

I prefer Dio's vocal delivery and I think when he joined Black Sabbath his lyrics and songwriting , coupled with the maturity of Sabbath as a band (what were they when Ozzy left - 10yrs old ??) , brought a different vibe to the overall output ... a strength in the songs which I prefer.
As Iommi put it "when Dio came in, it was a different attitude, a different voice and a different musical approach, as far as vocals. Dio would sing across the riff, whereas Ozzy would follow the riff, like in "Iron Man". Ronnie came in and gave us another angle on writing."
If I never hear Paranoid again - no loss.

What you say is very valid, Ozzy sabbath and Dio Sabbath are two totally different sounding bands. I think the difference for me is that Ozzy sabbath is more raw and edgy than the more polished Dio Sabbath. The riffage in Ozzy sabbath is just so good, many memorable riffs which drove the songs along. The Dio approach is much more complicated and probably more considered but lacks the killer hooks of say Supernaut. I like Dio Sabbath a lot but its just not as good as Ozzy Sabbath. By the way I would quite happily live my life if I never heard Paranoid (the song not album) again

Yeah man, Im not saying Ozzy Sabbath don't have iconic tunes and I love the rawness and Iommi's riffage of that era too .. N.I.B., War Pigs, Planet Caravan (not exactly what we're talking about but still iconic), Fairies Wear Boots, Sweet Leaf, Children of the Grave, Killing Yourself to Live etc etc ... but as a complete album .. I love Mob Rules hence I gave it 10/10.

They are a brilliant live band. What did you think of 'Skyforger'? I personally love it, although some songs are not as class as 'Silent Waters' it still is a brilliant album.
