Viking Burial ftw.

Load me up onto a big wooden ship, loaded with flammable things,
Set it sailing adrift off the coast at sunset...
And then have a friend / family member shoot flaming arrows at it until the whole bloody thing goes up.

No pointless religious crap,
No pointless mourning,
No stupid headstone for family members to trip over once a year..

Just a ship.. And Fire.. And Awesome.

Cremated will be the last step. I might be donated first, after all I'll not be needing the body anymore. Cremation will most likely be non-denominational unless those closest to me have their own preference and would prefer religious comforts at the time of cremation. I'd like the ashes to be spread across a nice area of the earth too, not sure were. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust etc

I used to want to be cryogenically frozen but t'would cost too much. The Viking Burial sounds like it would be a great day out for the family.

I like the idea of a viking funeral, but donating to science is probably the one for me.

I'd like to donate it to Mythbusters. They can shoot me, crash into me, drop me off high buildings, freeze me, drown me, feed me to piranhas, etc. It'd save that poor dummy for a while.

@Ivy: Make a living will. Declare it to your folks. Make them accept that this is what you want done with YOUR body.

At moment I'm going for cremation. Ideally I would like to be buried in a natural buried ground under a Yew tree.

I did think about being cremated, but then there's the pollution. I'm leaning more toward one of those orchard cemetaries these days. In reality I don't care; I'll be dead, I won't know if they've buried me in a solid gold coffin or thrown im in a ditch. Just as long as it's done as cheaply as possible.
