Darn it its down to 6.10 i paid 8.10 for it 3 weeks ago  Good film too, the USB thing though weights a ton but comes in a nice metal box, whole thing is pretty cool.

As a heads up, this is a very very cool memory stick and IMHO deffo worth this price or more as a memory stick, but DON'T get it for the film (which is very good BTW). You have to jump through so many hoops to watch a crappy quality version it is unbelievable. You have to register it on each computer (by the end of this year!), download a player, update the player, and so on.

Buy it on DVD, Blu-Ray, or get it from somewhere else as well.

Yeah I had to go through the same rig marole as well. Some pain in the hole!
It took me until 2am to get it sorted then I tried to watch the movie but fell asleep.
The Drive itself is the coolest thing ever. I've got a 2nd one and if anything it makes an impressive paper weight!

If you plug this into a USB port in a laptop is it going to block the other USB port that's beside it? It looks quite bulky...

looks like it would block out the sun tbh

some of these larger usb devices come with extension cables, so they dont block, or are able to fit in tighter spaces (round the back of a desktop computer for example). I presume this one doesnt come with one?

yes it is, and it is HEAVY - feels like solid steel. Not the sort of thing you would carry around in your pocket. :(:(

Yep, it seems like the most useless memory stick imaginable, for that reason.

Indeed, and with a nod to the cdwow thread on bargains, I'dd add that the DVD movie is included in the 2 for €6 deal. If like me you can't find anything to go with it, just buy 2, and give one as a present.

http://www.cdwow.ie/DVD/star-trek/dp/4656563/9990989 add 2 and the price will drop to €6

    Ix.

How long does delivery take from mymemory after dispatch, was dispatched last Friday week 27/8/10 and still has not arrived.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭youcancallmeal

Yeah ordered mine last Monday and still no sign?

Maybe because of the Star Fleet design they got transported somewhere?

I think those transporters work by locking onto the Star Fleet badges so it's entirely possible.

They all could be in Romulan space right now.

Dont be stupid Jayteecork everybody knows that transportation to Romulan airspace has been shut off since last Summers disaster when Starfleets security was compromised when a copy of "Star Trek: Films 1-10 Remastered Special Edition Box Set [Blu-ray] [1979]" from Mymemory went missing.

I got mine already. If the AA Batteries thread is anything to go by, most people should have gotten theirs at the same time (or thereabouts)?

I contacted these jokers to see what the story is and you have to wait for 28 days after dispatch before you can ask for a refund. I have been waiting 19 days so far...

Jokers isn't the word! Asking you to wait 28 Days for delivery? What an obscue rule!

    ()

Seriously, mymemory are class! They've always got a good deal going on. Postage is a little on the slow side sometimes, sure, but you don't pay for it.

If you want stuff in a rush, don't they have a shipping option where you pay extra and they get it to you faster?

The item is being shipped from Jersey not Outer Mongolia. Should it really take 19 days+ for delivery? As you can see from the other replies in this thread I'm not the only one waiting so long. My gripe is that the item is apparantly dispatched within 24 hours of ordering however I suspect that this is a lie and the dispatched email is an automatic one that bears no correlation to when the item was actually dispatched. Not that I'm overly bothered, it only cost €6, but something fishy is going on here....detective.gif

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,780 ✭✭✭pissed

I think they may have axed their free shipping :( , looking on the main page now shows worldwide shipping £1.95. I think I will be looking elsewhere in future. Their delivery times used to be a lot quicker than they are now.

I dunno, I ahve had stuff from Play.com take just as long to arrive, I generally blame the irish Postal system, might not be the postal system this time

This is getting boring, thing is I'd ordered a camera case off them a couple of weeks back and it was with me in about 3 days.

SEriously, where is my memory stick?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 545 ✭✭✭ninty

I dont think they were dispatched at all as this is the first thing that has ever gone missing on me

    Still no joy
Time to send a strongly worded email!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭youcancallmeal

I just checked my receipt and I see that I actually did pay for delivery which is probably why I actually received mine. I was wondering at the time why I paid 8euro something and it said €6.10 in the title!? So basically it seems that if you ordered this before they got rid of free postage then your probably not going to receive it?

That makes sense. I paid €6.10 for it so looks like I wont get it.

Any reply to that strongly worded email?

I have just emailed them again and mentioned about people who paid for postage receiving theirs. I have also asked to be removed from their mailing list and said I would not be using their company again.

Look forward to their reply :D

I used the insite mail thing, linked them to this thread too

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,630 ✭✭✭The Recliner

To be fair to them they replied to me in under 24 hours and were very polite and seem willing to help, I have another few days to go though before I hit the 28 day mark, will get back onto them then

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭death1234567

Contacted them there as my 28 days was up. They gave me a refund and to be fair to them they have very good customer service for an online company. Its a shame though I kinda needed that USB drive and it was a good bargain...

FYI: I used the in-site Live chat instead of emailing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,780 ✭✭✭pissed

I also used the in line mailing service, got a reply from them today with an apology and a refund.

As requested, your account has been refunded with the amount of £4.99. This should take no longer than 48 hours to be processed.

If you have any other queries please do not hesitate to contact us. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused with this matter.

    Kind Regards,

    MyMemory Ltd.

Would have preferred the memory stick :(
