Did anyone try use a test mode on there cars odometer?? a digital one that is. I believe all fords can do it, but essentially you can put your digital odometer into test mode which will readout speed so you can compare to the main speedometer.
Yes (I have a Focus C-Max where the OBD can be put into this mode), and it and the GPS were as near identical as I could determine without taking my eyes off the road for too long. This just goes to show that the "error" is purely artificial and introduced into the main speed display (regardless of whether it's digital or analogue) by software. Some manufacturers just do it more than others, that's all.
